We visit Sunnyside about twice a year from North Carolina and go all over the city exploring restaurants, but this is our hands-down favorite in all of NYC! After four years we have found the food to be consistently excellent and the service is perfect. We have been treated like locals on every visit. One evening we came in for just a glass of wine and found ourselves treated to complimentary appetizers. We are vegetarian and our favorite dishes are the gnocchi and anything with their house-made pesto sauce.

Don’t be discouraged by the low profile exterior, go inside...everyone in your group is going to have a great meal! We tried the lasagne bolognese, the spaghetti chitarra and the cheese & pear ‘ravioli’. All three dishes were superb! The desserts were as delicious although I can be lured back just for coffee and Nonna’s torta. Drive out of your way or take the train to experience this Italian gem in a low key setting. I can’t wait to go back and try something new.. and Nonna’s torta!!

stopped for lunch with a friend. Got their signature salad and a side of pasta. Over the top good. Salad featured super fresh greens mix, artichokes, crunchy things. Excellent vinaigrette. Side turned out to be housemaid paperdelle with porcinis. Pasta and mushrooms perfectly cooked, nicely developed sauce. All signs of a more than competent kitchen. Even bread was chewy, fresh, maybe sourdough. Unobtrusive helpful service. No lunch menu really, so pricey, but worth it.

Really good food in a casual neighborhood restaurant. Efficient and friendly service. Decent sized portions. Special of the day included striped bass ravioli. Also had best and goat cheese salad and chicken with lemon sauce. All were excellent.

Delicious Italian food in a super trendy setting. Loved everything -- from the look & feel, ambiance, service and food. What else can you say about mouth watering pasta (tired the pizza too -- amazing dough). Wine selection was decent. Dont recall deserts but this is a great address.

The food was delicious even though the portions were a bit small. Very taste, the waiter gave us a great wine recommendation which matched perfect! The spinach fettuccine with mussels was delicious, also the pasta with pear and ricotta.

Although the meal was delicious and ingredients fresh, the portions are extremely small in comparison to the high price charged. My friend ordered spaghetti with meatballs and we said to ourselves, "Where the food?" It was served on this gigantic plate, but there was hardly any food on it.

We found the place through Tripadvisor and upon entering both said we would never have walked in if we didn't know this was the place. A low profile exterior but once inside you feel warm and welcome. The staff is excellent, seem to enjoy working here and offer you the best experience. This is all backed up by a very nice menu and great food!

Two couples - Valerio, a restaurateur from Milan, Italy, his wife Michele from Venezuela and Gina and Francesca, also restaurateurs from Cisternino, a small village in the heart of Puglia, Italy - came together in a partnership and opened two restaurants in Queens. This one on the corner of 40th St and Queens Boulevard, we almost drove by, the block is so full of businesses. The bar runs most all of the interior wall on the 40th St side with tables in the windows, along the street walls. From mid-morning, to the end of the day, you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner, seven days a week! They are killing themselves to provide great food and a wonderful neighborhood experiences. Casual, welcoming, with a full bar, this is so very italian and so wonderfully curated to represent the best of their regions at very reasonable prices with generous portions. The bomoboloni and cornetti were a wonderful way to start our brunch - along with a little prosecco, and perfectly brewed espressos and cappuccinos. There are daily specials and we added aged parmesan chunks with grilled bread pieces to add to all our choices. The hangover burger was perfectly cooked on a large roll and it had cheese and an egg on top; the hanger steak and eggs again were done as requested; another one of us had the truffled egg special - all of those were served with wonderful roasted potatoes and a small chopped salad on the side. I had the arugula salad, perfectly dressed with just enough sun-dried tomatoes for color and taste. All four dishes were generous in size and very reasonably priced, perfectly prepared with care and love. This was our first visit - it's on the subway line from downtown towards JFK, Flushing (if you are going for an event) and not that far from Laguardia, so do as we did and make it a meal before you fly get there on public transportation and take a cab to the airports. Our friend who lives a few miles away goes most every night on his way home from downtown office/work. He is right to make it a regular stop. You can't go wrong.

Lovey place to eat alone or with a friend. They have bar seating and numerous tables with blasting cold ac tonight. I had the mussels and white wine sauce linguini with the Sole salad that had artichoke shards and sun dried tomatoes with a shore of lemon hello for dessert.

We had an amazing dinner here; we were staying in the neighbourhood and went based on the reviews on Trip Advisor. It's a small restaurant (best to make reservations so you won't be disappointed) and we found it too noisey inside the night we were there, so staff got us a table outside. It's a nice quiet neighbourhood. All of the staff were warm and welcomming and Michael was the most perfect attentive, kind, helpful server. The food was amazing - would go back in a heartbeat. I tried the bruchetta and a pasta dish, homemade ravioli, both were delish. Really nice wine selection as well.

It was an impromptu dinner with my daughter and son-in-law, a short walk from their apartment. It was charming as we entered and were seated. A look at the menu had my mouth watering. We each ordered different dishes. I had the pear and ricotta ravioli, my daughter the pappardelle fungi and my son-in-law the eggplant parm. One taste of my dish had me wondering if I could eat TWO of them! Naturally, we tasted all of them, and I could find no fault with any. My preference is pasta, so those two were the best in my estimation. The server was friendly, relaxed, and efficient, checking on us often enough, but not too often. Because the dinner was so delicious, we shared a flan with berries that was also wonderful. I can't say enough good things about this place! What a great evening.

The food was awesomely delicious and the service outstanding, as usual. The atmosphere was quite chill and comfy; nothing to complain about the noise level in the restaurant. So happy to have a place like this in Sunnyside.
