I have stopped here a number of times for a bowl of soup. The price is fair and with the outside seating, it is a safe bet for a quick and delicious bite. I have sampled their fried sea scallops too and they were only...lightly fried. Deep fried doesn’t let you taste their freshness, so I was impressed by how “light and no breading” lets the quality of the seafood shine through. I will be sampling more of their offerings in the future.More

The food was outstanding. you do have to wait at least 50+ minutes during lunch or dinner time. it was worth the wait. you need to order your food and come back in awhile to get it. a must stop while on the North Fork

I really would not classify this as a fish market, but more a fish store that offers an abundant selection of fresh fish, as well as a menu's worth of excellent seafood-focused prepared sandwiches, soups, salads, and fried treats. Their famous lobster rolls (hot and...cold) do not disappoint, but also try the "Crabby Bites", as well as the corn fritters, if you are willing to spend a few bucks. An outdoor patio provides visitors a chance to relax and enjoy their visit when the weather cooperates. To note, a small bar occupied a portion of the SFM, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was closed.More

Their food is delicious. If you are looking for fresh fish this is the place to go. My favorite is their stuffed flounder. We also liked their fried shrimp and fish tacos.

Wonderful seafood!! We went strawberry picking, and were looking for a place to eat, that was open, and had outdoor dining. Saw this Seafood Market in passing as we headed to a Lavender Farm. Stopped on the way back, and we were so glad we...did! Everything was excellent!! Lobster Roll, Fish and Chips, Baked Clams and Steamed Mussels! No complaints!! Staff was energenic and helpful!More

Based on an article in Newsday we decided to try Southold Fish Market. The Newsday article said they opened the outdoor seating (Covid pandemic - phase 2.) We were coming from Nassau county. An hour and a half away. We needed to get out of...the house; anyway. Yes there are closer seafood restaurants - but we needed a ride. Overall we were very disappointed in our choice of the Southold Fish Market. I used Waze for directions and “she” took me through beautiful Long Island scenery. I felt as if I was transported to picture perfect landscape scenery. On our return home I just took RT 495 (Long Island Expressway.) At Southold Fish Market we ordered the Sea Scallops ($18) basket and the Clam Strip ($13) basket. Both were served with soggy thin greasy fries and a tiny container of cole slaw. The sea scallops basket came with 6 small cube pieces. For $18 carry out service there should have been a few more cubes. However they were pretty good. If the fries had been better I would not have been too dissatisfied. The clam strips was another story. Terrible. Overly fried. Overly oily. Absolutely No Taste. These clam strips were like eating cardboard. They were just tiny fried pieces of batter. You could not see or taste a clam. We have had fried clam strips before so this was a disaster. Coupled with soggy oily fries. This meal spoiled the entire day. Ok, so we took a drive. Saw some pleasant scenery but we will not be back. Overrated.More

First time at Southold Fish Market ( 5/30/20). What a great experience it was. We ordered just some soup to enjoy outside and 6 clam stuffies to cook at home. The soup was served hot and full of flavor I had the New England Clam...Chowder, my wife had the Manhattan Clam Chowder , Excellent!!. We had the clam stuffies at home this evening. The best I have had in a long time. The clam was stuffed with clam, shrimp and scallops all fresh and so delicious. The market itself has their fresh fish on display for purchase . It all looks so fresh and delectable. They have many different lunch and dinner items that is cooked for you to enjoy outdoors at picnic tables or take home. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. Great find on the east end of long islandMore

Southold Fish Market simply has Greatest Seafood on the North Fork. The Atmosphere and Employees are terrific . It’s hard to find a place with real fresh “Local seafood “ , but SHFM has it!!! I’ve fished, clammed and crabbed my entire life on Long...Island and have cooked it all. These Guys and Gals know how to do it Right!!! The Grilled Tuna can’t be beat , the cooked shrimp are always awesome and the Oysters are superbly done , raw , fried and especially grilled. Charlie’s crew does a terrific job and special thanks to Laura and Cindy for always making our meals delicious and visits like being with family.More

I don't have a dog so I have never tried to dine with one but the picnic tables outside appear to be dog friendly. Most of Southold Town is pretty dog friendly so my best guess is that yes, bring your dog ( on a leash) and... More
