We visited in a group of 10 people. The menu was varied and they did something special for my young daughter. I had stuffed flounder which was nice but became a bit of an effort to finish. There was a good choice but my wife said the sirloin was very tough. All in all a little disappointing

We have been to Shippys many times. It is a local hangout.. None of the pretension that Southhampton can exhibit. The food is wonderful, especially the steak. Choose steak, and you will be surprised at the quality. $31 for a fork tender strip steak included are one side, a salad or soup. Of course the Wiener schnitzel with red cabbage... More

I would call this place Germanish, they have some very good German dishes, the schnitzel al la Holstein is done perfectly with the right amount of anchovies and capers. Thier prime rib special takes up the whole plate and is done to order. The appetizers are average at best, the clam chowder is a safe choice. Service is paced, but... More

Very quaint, Donald the bartender, very pleasant.....most importantly the drinks are very reasonable......not the $14 per drink at all the other rip off joints, about $7 a drink.....which is quite pleasant. Had liverwurst sandwich, and although not much to judge on, it was very good. The big plus is that it was refreshing to find a nice pub not run... More

Love this restaurant, the food is always great, if you love a cozy meal this is the place. The staff is a little dysfunctional, but the food compensates. Love it!

Tried this restaurant today. It is a German restaurant with a hamptons twist. A few German menu items but go here for the salads and catering to the summer Hamptons vacationers menu. So disappointed very expensive for poor quality food. Inside is dark and ambiance is golf courses instead of German memorabilia.

A cross between an authentic German Bierhaus and an early-20th Century Golf Course's '19th Hole', Shippy's provides small-town conviviality, old world specialties, wooden classic (if a bit long-in-the-tooth) decor, and down-to-earth charm at reasonable prices. Lunch is standard, but well done. The Dinner Menu combines standard American steaks, chops, seafood and poultry with Old German Specialties that are well worth... More

Have been here three times for lunch in the past two weeks since my favorite pub lunch, Publick House, is relocating to former Driver's Seat. The food at Shippy's is very well prepared and except for one - too salty for my palate - soup, has been absolutely delicious and extremely satisfying. The salads, potato pancakes, Pastrami sandwich, Kielbasa, and... More
