Full disclosure: I've been here at least 50 times and I got married here! Yup, it's that good. We stayed a few nights upstairs - beautiful rooms, each one different and unique, loved the gas fireplaces. The restaurant is positively to die for. Reasonably priced, great bar selection and specials, but I always seem to get the Chicken Andouille Sausage... More

Very beautiful Inn. Two wonderful dining areas. One more formal and the other more casual . The Inn is in the small town of Skaneateles (one of the lovely finger lakes.) The food in the casual room is OK. The food in the more formal area is very good. The Sherwood Inn is a favorite place to go in Central... More

My wife and I ate at the Sherwood last Sunday. We were not as hungry as we usually are, so thought we were ordering lighter than normal. We were wrong. We started with two appetizers. I had the scallops, by wife had the gooda mac and cheese. They were both outstanding. The scallops, cooked perfect, were served on a bed... More

Love the French onion soup, pan seared pecan crusted Atlantic salmon! Today I had a white chocolate mousse with almond frosting and a raspberry sauce! Delish! The prices are a little much but totally worth the experience your mouth gets! I've also had the yankee pot roast which is great as well! I'm gluten free and there are plenty of... More

What a wonderful cozy place for a winter dinner. Food was awesome and so was the atmosphere with a blazing fireplace. Service was excellent. Would love to go back again.

Always a treat to have a nice dinner at the Sherwood. Classy and unpretentious. Shrimp cocktail was excellent. We came for the pot roast and it was great. Our waitress said it was her favorite. Ended the evening with a creme brule. With two glasses if wine our bill was around $80. Will come back again and again.

Had a great lunch with hubby and my dad. Bloody Mary's we're good but small. Enjoyed a roast turkey bacon melt on delicious bread with sweet potato fries. Dad enjoyed a Rueben with German potato salad and hubby has the special steak sandwich with seasoned Fries. Steak was shredded and a bit disappointing. All dishes were generous portions. Ate in... We visited the Sherwood at around 4 p.m. on a Saturday. We had a nice table near the window and a friendly waitress. I started with a Caesar salad which was outstanding! The topper was they served it with a wedge of lemon! A perfect addition to Caesar salad! Myself sweetie had the wedge salad. We both ordered the burger... More

The Sherwood Inn is still going strong after more than two hundred years. In a picturesque location at the foot of Skaneateles Lake and great food too! The Sherwood Inn is a nineteenth century landmark that has kept up with the times. On our most recent visit we were pleased with our light fare of gaspacho soup, shrimp cocktail, and... More

As part of the overnight room special, we had a $50 credit for the restaurant (we would have eaten there anyway). The food was good, well presented and served impeccably. The steak was butter knife tender and my wife's rack of lamb was succulent and cooked to perfection. My only criticism was with the Clams Casino appetizer, the clam was... More
