We were delighted to find Perreca's open on the Monday after New Year's when other Schenectady restaurants were not, but the menu choices we made from soup to sandwiches were all a little too salty to us. The menu range was good and the service helpful. However, no other baker can beat their fabulous bread!

Walking into this bakery is like stepping back in time, and the bread is something out of the best food dream you've ever had. It's hard-crusted and with a nutty flavor on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. There's also Italian specialty deli meats and cheeses, as well as a handful of pastries and cupcakes to choose... More

An excellent bakery. Everything is fresh and delicious, especially their italian breads. Great retro atmosphere, and wonderful staff.

There is NOTHING to compare with their Italian bread. Nothing. Their minestronecsoup is also delicious....and vegetarian.

We were going to dinner at Cornell's restaurant (incredible Italian food) next door and smelled this incredible smell. When we went into the bakery it was like a step back in time. They have been making the same bread since 1914 and it is DELICIOUS! Don't go to Schenectady without stopping in!

Wonderful food and baked goods, reasonably priced. We go to the restaurant for delicious breakfasts on special occasions. We hope to get there for dinner soon. The restaurant is cosy and has a very comfortable atmosphere. Their bakery has some of the best bread available locally and a selection of other tasty treats. A local landmark, the ovens at Perreca's... More

Go to Perreca's for the bread and get a meal as a side dish. Their bread is fabulous, hot and steamy from the oven. The staff is friendly and make you feel right at home. The food is delicious and varied. Enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal and you will want to come back soon.

This is without a doubt the best loaf of Italian/Venetian bread that you can buy. Have to buy 2 loaves. One for the ride home and one for when you get home. This crusty, dense bread must be used same day or it will be a brick the next day. No presevatives!
