We were really happy with our experience here. Seafood was fresh and very nicely prepared. For appetizers, we had the wild mussels, crispy octopus, and corn with shrimp bisque. For dinner, 4 of us had the scallop bowl, and others had the soft shell crabs,...and rib eye. I will say that the entree portions were not huge, particularly for the price. But the appetizer portions were a good size so that made up for it mostly. The other thing we really appreciated with the meal was that they were very accommodating with gluten-free, dairy-free and allergy needs - and still able to make everything taste so good. Our server was quite knowledgeable in this area and the kitchen followed through on our dietary needs. I liked the ambience alot - clean, simple, good energy by the patrons without being too loud (my 86 year old father cannot tolerate the really loud restaurants unfortunately). I was a little surprised we were able to get a table on short notice but perhaps it's because it was a Sunday evening and people are often away during late August. I hope next time will be just as easy. Just a heads up - parking is a little weird. Not a lot and there are meters - it wasn't clear where we could park. Anyway, this is on our list of restaurants now!More

Extremely good food, fresh and tasty. Love the desserts too. Worth trying for sure if you live in westchester. New England clam chowder needs improvement. Everything else is amazing on the menu.

Always a reliable choice in the lower Westchester region. This time, I had the lobster Cobb salad for the first time - very happy with this selection!

Granted, the seafood was fresh. But when all one can muster about a self-proclaimed "award-winning fine dining restaurant" is, well, at least the seafood was fresh...there's something to be said. Our experience got off to an uneasy start as our reservations for outdoor dining were...changed to indoor dining without informing us first. We were able to be seated outdoors in the end, but the ambiance and atmosphere were unfortunately characterized by a nearby dripping air-con, constant streams of cars arriving/departing for take-out, and the slamming of the front door. Our server seemed to be in a rush and expressed this through a disdained impatience as we asked the usual questions about menu items. The small plates lived up to their name, being small not only in size but also in matching expectations for fine-dining. The two-minute calamari was bathed in a sauce reminiscent of Newman's Mariana. The shrimp and avocado would have been delightful if not for the offending shrimp who was not properly deveined. Oysters were fresh, presented with the typical red sauce and radish water. Our entreés arrived delectably warm, with the Parmesan Encrusted Cod bathed in a cream sauce – drowning in sauce does perhaps appropriately align with their oceanic theme. The fish and chips were the highlight of our dinner: crispy, melt-in-your-mouth flaky, juicy. A pity the other dishes didn't shine the same. In a word, Eastchester Fish Gourmet is overrated. However, major compliments to waitstaff and employees. They were generally wonderful amidst the chaos of take-outs and busy dinner rush, especially the server who offered us extra cornbread.More

Discovered Eastchester Fish Market through a friend's recommendation. I was very excited to find a true, stand-alone fish monger, as they are so scarce these days. Stopped by (during the COVID shutdowns) this past Saturday afternoon and asked for a couple of 1-3/4 - 2...lb lobsters. The price differential between lobsters under 1-3/4 and over was $3 ($17.99/lb vs $20.99/lb) so I asked to stay under the premium level, if possible. I believe the owner (or possibly the manager) served me, and was oddly reluctant to weigh the lobsters in front of me. He pulled one lobster and it weighed over 1-3/4. When he pulled the second lobster, he set it down on the counter (next to the scale) and said, "This one is about the same as the other one." I had to ask him to put it on the scale (which is standard operating procedure at any fish or meat market), which seemed really odd to me. He quickly set the lobster onto the scale -- it barely registered the weight of the lobster before abruptly pulling it off again. Not a very nice way of doing business, IMO. The store wasn't very busy, and I was with my daughter, so I didn't want to make a make a big deal about it. Furthermore, I noticed that the 2nd lobster's claw was damaged (a fairly large cut/indentation) which was probably why he was eager to get us to buy it and get it off his hands. When I went to cook the lobsters later that night, it was clear that the lobster's injury was pretty bad and the fish store should never have sold it. Or, they should have called out the lobster's irregularity and discounted it for that very reason. Regret is the last feeling you should have when you pay almost $90 on two lobsters. Although they were decent in taste and quality, it was really disappointing that Eastchester Fish didn't hold itself to a high standard for the prices it charges and for its customers. One and done for me.More

Upon entering this place the service was below fair. The employees just looked at us until I finally said are you open? Then someone came over to seat myself and my friend. It took almost 20 minutes before anyone came to the table to offer...us water. We went to order food and there were 3 items on the menu which they didn't even have. They said we ran out. But there were only 4 other people inside the restaurant. Very disorganized, smelled fishy and would definitely not recommend.More

This place is busy! If you are looking for a quiet place to have a meal with your honey look elsewhere. That is the only reason I gave it 4 stars, we expected a bit more of a formal dining experience for the price. Besides...being elbow to elbow with other tables the service was good and the food was great. They did have really good soups and oysters. My husband got a whole sea-bass, me the fish & chips. Both were cooked very well. For desert I tried the chocolate soufflé, best part of the meal!More

Wanted to find a good seafood resturant to meet with friends that would be accesable to all of us. We were coming from Brooklyn and other couple from Hudson Valley and EFG was just about mid-point. We could not have been happier with our choice!...What a gem! Seafood was fresh, well prepared and flavorful. We all loved our dishes and desserts! Service and ambiance was also excellent. We are now looking for reasons to head back to Scarsdale and EFG!More

A surprisingly good fish restaurant in nearby Eastchester (Scarsdsle) where the owner sources the freshest seafood from The New Fulton Fish Market daily. A good sign that the restaurant is thriving is the trusty, knowledgeable long-term wait staff. They recently allowed reservations due to long...waits for tables. Prices are relatively moderate with a good wine selection. EFG is a local hangout so reservations are suggested. Check out their fish store just next door.More

We had a marvelous meal at EFG. The food was creative and wonderfully prepared. The setting is nice but not overly warm / enveloping. Our server was nice and quite helpful. Go for a wonderful experience, but go knowing that this place is not inexpensive.

Sorry to be late replying--we were traveling! Yes, it is about 1 mile from L&T. I had that experience, but the owner stepped in and his response was excellent. I'd go again in a heartbeat!
