We travelled to Montreal and back to New York. This is the tastiest food I've had all week. In my experience good restaurants usually get all the details right. And here even the bread and butter was good here. I would consider this a destination...restaurant because Saugerties itself is interesting to walk around. There's artsy shops. and sites to see. Actually this was cheaper than the other dinner restaurants.More

We have been coming to Miss Lucy’s every summer for the past 10 years. Food has always been very good although, post COVID, the menu is now more limited. The staff are very friendly. The restaurant gets very crowded on the weekends and service therefore...slows down. The main drawback, however, is the horrendous noise level. The ambiance is rustic and as a result there is nothing to absorb sound. It is hard to even hear people at your own table and therefore everyone starts to shout. The problem seems to have gotten worse recently. For this reason we will probably not go back.More

The service here was incredibly slow and the lighting inside is terrible - way too dark. But after waiting for nearly 45 minutes for our meal to arrive (in the dark!), we were actually delighted with our meal. Really everything we had was super.

We booked dinner reservations for two families on New Years 2021. The menu was mouthwatering and offered plenty of choices for us to mull over, many we have seen on the menu before. One which was a special that night was my favorite dish -...the scallops were prepared to perfection.More

Saugerties is a pretty small town on the Hudson River. So it was surprising, to me, that a restaurant of this calibre is located there. All thing—atmosphere, service, drinks, food—were very good.

Really a fantastic place to have dinner or lunch! Best tomato bisque soup I have ever had in my entire life, and I have tried a lot of tomato bisque soup :-) the atmosphere is fantastic as well. This is comfort food for grown-ups. Beautifully...prepared and incredibly tasty… Highly recommended!More

We have been to Miss Lucy’s many times when driving north. It’s our first and favorite stop. This time however, it was disappointing. My beloved Reuben sandwich was lackluster at best. With one slice of Pastrami I could barely taste it. It used to be...filled with pastrami. My husband had a salad with grilled chicken and it was over cooked and dry. Really hoping this was a fluke mistake but not sure about going back sadly.More

We had lunch and dessert here and all was phenomenal. We started with fried olives and a Bloody Mary. Next we had the chicken cutlet sandwich and Rueben sandwich. We finished with the pear crisp. We also got a side of fries. There was nothing...that wasn’t amazing. We left knowing we will return again when we are in the area. The service was also excellent. We highly recommend this place. You can tell they care about everything they serve you.More

Recommended by our hotelier... the place was filled on a Thursday night - it's fairly small but accommodating. I can't remember what I ordered for dinner. I just remember their being butter flavor in many of the dishes and I'm not a butter eater. But...those fried olives, and I don't eat fried foods, were amazing - hubby ordered them and I polished off half. We had the apple crumb for dessert but I think I was full from dinner and couldn't enjoy it although it had a nice crumbly topping. When we got home, I wrote to Miss Lucy's Kitchen and asked them if they wouldn't mind giving me the fried olive recipe because my husband is an olive connosieur and I also wanted to know what the dipping sauce was ... they were gracious and wrote me back with the recipe and the dipping sauce is a feta crema...More

We had our best meal of our three day getaway to the Hudson Valley at Miss Lucy’s! Everything was fresh and delicious and the menu is pretty much what I would consider “soul food,” but there are also healthy options… We especially loved the mac...& cheese and fried chicken. And the desserts are out of this world, too. It’s in a beautiful old historic building… You will not NOT disappointed!More

We visited Miss Lucy's on a Wednesday. I called ahead and was told no reservation was needed for a party of 5. I was also told the restaurant is not crowded on Wednesdays. This turned out to not be the case. Every table was occupied....We were seated in a timely fashion and were given menus. Three of us wanted the listed hamburger meal but were told they didn't have any hamburger. We then ordered the BLT on a ciabatta roll. We waited over an hour for our meals. The rolls that came with the BLT were extremely hard and very difficult to eat. We had to take our sandwiches apart and eat them in pieces. When the hardness of the rolls was mentioned the server her response was "that's because they are made in house". As we were leaving one couple in our party ordered 2 desserts to go. Upon opening the container in the car one of the desserts was not what was ordered. That dessert was returned for the correct one. No compensation was offered. We all decided we would not return to Miss Lucy's Kitchen again.More
