This restaurant and its sister restaurant the Old Mill are understaffed and it shows with long waits and stressed out workers. The owners should be present at these restaurants to make sure things run smoothly and efficiently. The food was OK but the experience was...horrible at both restaurants. Next time I would get food at the many delis and markets scattered around the Catskills and skip these places.More

Came here twice already, we loved the food, the atmosphere and most importantly the service. Staff is kind and attentive. It is becoming our favorite place in the area

Bizarre experience tonight. Walked in hoping to be seated and waited patiently for a server, as is common to do. Was ignored by all 3 waitresses - who clearly saw me - and then a couple walk in, walk past me and then are seated...at the bar taking the only seats. I left, disappointed. Cannot recommend. Strange way to run a business. Moral of the story: don’t wait patiently hoping to be seated.More

Returned to chappies for the first time since lockdown was just lifted from covid, this was the first restaurant we felt truly safe and welcome. We can’t say enough about this restaurant it’s family :) A deeply emotional connection to both the food and people...min you walk in *hint the trout ❤️ and really any pizza. My sister and I had lunch there the first day we were at The Roxbury. She had BLT and I had chicken fingers and both were delish! And they gave so much food that we both had leftovers for dinner. Second day we called for...delivery and again food was delish and delivery was really quick!More

We went away for the weekend at the Roxbury and went to Chappies a few times. I had the egg vegetarian skillet my husband had their burger both of which were absolutely delicious. The burger was so good he couldn’t wait for me to take...a picture before taking a bite in. The French onion soup was one of the best I’ve ever tasted . We later had their wings which was absolutely amazing and good portions. I wasn’t too fond of the vegetarian burger sandwich but my husband liked it. Also loved their Italian coffee, really delicious!! I will definitely return to Chappies when I’m in the area again!More

This is an excellent restaurant in a very rural area. The food is great - we had smoked trout and pizza - both outstanding. The service was very slow and not too attentive. However, the manager recognized this and comped a round of drinks and...gave us a takeout appetizer and saved the day. If you are not in a hurry, you can't beat the food.More

Despite being the ONLY restaurant in Roxbury, they have very good food. I've been here a few times while stying at the Roxbury, in March and again last week, got both Take out and ate in. Fish and Chips, Chicken Fingers, Pizza, all great! But...this was the slowest service I have ever had in my life, painfully slow.....every time I went there. Not the friendliest staff either and very unapologetic. Like I should have expected to wait 20 minutes for a beer and 50 minutes for food, when I ordered one pizza and was traveling solo. Sorry I hate to say that but it needs to be pointed out. I'll go back again. At least it is a very consistent place, great good and super slow service.More
