This was my first time dining at Armondo’s. The menu is extensive with something for everyone. The food was delicious! I had the clams casino as an appetizer, veal parmigiana and the homemade cavatelli as my main course. Everybody in our party enjoyed their meals....The service was good, not overly friendly and a bit rushed. The atmosphere is nothing special. It’s a great place for a delicious traditional Italian meal but not necessarily a spot for relaxed dining experience or a special occasion. I will definitely be r3turning!More

We had dinner with friends and the entire experience was wonderful! Our server, Nadine, was super attentive! She really did make our evening enjoyable! And the food was amazing all around!

During the crazy time of 2020, one of our favorite Italian restaurant doesn't have their dining room opened so we have tried other places in the area. On this night, we tried Armandos. The food is really delicious, fairly large portions...especially when ordering the pork...chops. The wait staff is attentive and friendly. We would eat here again.More

We make it a point to dine here whenever we are in Schenectady. This time it was two nights in a row! The first night we shared the broccoli rabe and white beans appetizer which was just delicious followed by the calamari over linguine. It's...the best calamari in red sauce ever and we're Italian! The next night we were lucky to get a reservation for Valentine's Day. We had the broccoli rabe and white beans appetizer again plus the lobster risotto special. Both excellent, For entrees we had the branzino in lemon butter sauce and it was perfectly cooked and delicious. The food here is impeccacably fresh, authentic, well prepared and generously portioned..and just plain delicious! We love this place!More

Only two very minor complaints: the pasta fagolia was not the traditional recipe I was expecting (although very tasty) and the veal Milanese was a little dry therefore it could have used a little more sauce. But the waitress was great, the meal was wonderful,...salads cool and crisp, the desserts very yummy. We had a lovely evening out to celebrate our 11th anniversary. thank you. The place was packed. Make reservations on the weekend.More

Armondo's is a treat every time we eat here! This is a must try Italian restaurant in the Capital district. We eat here at least twice a month and have never been disappointed. First tip is to pay a little extra and upgrade your pasta...side dish to there Homemade Cavatelli the best I have ever had. A few of of our favorites are Appetizer Utica greens. Chicken dish's Chicken parmesan, Chicken Francaise, Chicken Romano and the Chicken Sorrento when they have it on special. For beef dish's I recommend the stuffed steak and the Bistecca Tagliata. The service is always top notch water glasses are never empty and all servers are always smiling. They also have the best lemon drop martinis. My favorite server is Trish and the best part of the place is the maitre d Joanne she is the sweetest lady in the world. Armondo thank you for your hard work and your awesome staff I know this does not just happen in this business see you soon! CiaoMore

This is a fabulous restaurant. Big, delicious food and might I say underpriced. The pork chops (yes you get two) are huge, juicy, well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Highly recommend this stop!

I visited on New Year’s Eve with a party of ten with a 7:00pm reservation. We chose Armando’s for this special evening out, as we have previously enjoyed ourselves there for dinner. While not expecting to be seated immediately, we were kept waiting for 45...minutes and watched them take our table out of the closet and set it for us. So much for reservations. Our dinner consisted of five courses for $60. Reasonable for New Year’s Eve. Most of our party ordered chicken and steak for dinner, along with various pasta and appetizer courses including pasta with mixed veggies and sautéed broccoli rabe with beans. For dinner, I chose the haddock. No one else at our table ordered it, but as I do not like beef and the chicken dishes were all on the heavier side, I opted for the light, fish option. In hindsight, this turned out to be a fateful mistake. I was violently ill 5-6 hours after consuming my dinner, ringing in 2019 with a violent heave. I was so sick, I considered going to the ER. Instead, I contacted my doctor for advice. After finally recovering, I contacted the restaurant to report what had happened. My thought was the restaurant should be aware in case others got sick. I had no expectations of anything from them, I merely felt that if there was an issue with the ingredients or the handling of them, they should know so it can be corrected. Just like the reservations, my good intentions were useless. My conversation with the owner (when he finally came to the phone) was not a pleasant one. No apology. Period. In fact there was yelling and accusations that I was lying, including a generous dose of coarse language directed at me personally. He was more concerned about being pulled off the line on a Thursday evening, then talking to a concerned patron. So much for raising a concern that could potentially impact other patrons. Between the mismanagement of our reservations, the violent illness and the utter disregard for legitimate food safety concerns, I will never set foot in this restaurant again. I would recommend you seriously consider your options, and your health, before ever choosing Armando’s for a meal.More

This was an amazing restaurant for authentic Italian food. I did not dine in - take out. Chicken Marsala was excellent. Perhaps there could have been more chicken but plenty of food for under $30. The bread I’m assuming was homemade and very special. A...loaf was included with one family dinner. Salad was also included. Can’t wait to try other options on the menu. Appeared to host multiple seatings af restaurant and moved a lot of take out / catering for the area. I think it’s family run with everyone helpful and motivated to help. Great food!!More

Our first visit was with a large group several months ago. It was great then. So we decided to do a couples night out. It is awesome now. Same great food, same great service. Just know that this place comes at a price. It is...small. Seating is limited so get there early or be prepared to wait. Nice bar area to have a drink before dinner. Very relaxed atmosphere. Everything on the menu is excellent and cooked to order. Large portions and reasonable prices. Highly recommend.More

As someone else mentioned, this is now known as Armondo's and has been for a while now. A lot of these reviews go back to pre-Armondo's days when it was owned by others. Probably time to close this listing and start a new one. Whatever....We attended a small "wedding reception" (about 40 people) given by the parents of a couple who had eloped. Since it was a large gathering, we were given a limited sit-down menu of 4 items along with a salad and family style app's and sides. I had the Braciole and it was fantastic...as was the bread, the salad, the greens and beans, the calamari marinara, and the Caprese app. Service was good, no complaints here. Will definitely return.More
