The valet service was nice. The hostess was kind. The waitress looked like we were bothering her to even be at the restaurant. The bussers were friendly and attentive. The bread, butter combo they bring to the table was very good. We really liked the...spread they gave with that. The artichokes french we got as an appetizer was crunchy. It definitely was under cooked. One of our entree's was very good and the other was one of the worst meals I've ever had. It was putrid. Wine was very good, bourbon choices were decent. The ambiance was nice. I would never go back when there are so many great options available. This was Average at Best. Over priced, mid level service, mid to low level quality. Try almost anywhere else and be satisfied.More

Attended a meeting over dinner at this restaurant. Prices were ridiculously high--I paid $23 (including tax and tip) for a pizza margherita that had maybe one basil leaf (no kidding) chopped into microscopic pieces, spread over a very small amount of mozzarella. For that price,...the toppings should have been more than generous, not the bare minimum. I wanted to order the gnocchi but refuse to pay $32 for an entree that is not that pricey to make. Not a place I'd visit again, I'm afraid, unless they adjust their prices accordingly.More

Underwhelmed! The evening started out so well with a charming hostess that was delightful and engaging! It was all downhill from there! The food was so-so, the service was awful! Our waiter was more interested in opening bottles of wine for the table behind us....We witnessed half the table get up and leave only after reading the menu's special for the night, "No Corkage Fee”, One can only assume that they darted off across the street to the nearest Liquor store! We sat there for quite some time with our glasses empty fand our mouths dry! I would not recommend ordering the Haddock French with spinach and pasta, it was delivered by another waiter, and came swimming in 2 inches of liquid which made the fish soggy as well as the 3 pieces of soggy spinach that it came with. When our waiter did finally return after my dinner companion had eaten half of their dinner and mine now cold, I asked if he could bring a side plate so that I could take my fish out of the liquid- He replied in a sharp tone- "You’ll have to just wait a minute!" and stormed off! My friend ordered stacked eggplant. The cuts of the eggplant were very thick and not thin like she was used to which made the meal difficult to eat. We found the price of the meal very high for the quality and the service we received.More

Expensive food that was average. Food 2 stars Cons: Disappointed with the main entrees. Ribeye steak ($68) poor cut of meat for this price. Steak had too much membranes in the cut of meat. Seafood Fra Diavold ($50) Way too spicy, could not eat it,...burning my lips. Chicken French ($32) Not great, average. Wegmans Deli makes better Chicken French. Filet Mignon ($70) Sister-n-law ordered it well done (her fault), however it tasted bland & not good. Pros: Carbonara ($32) this was good. Apps: Lamb lollipops ($24) was excellent. Servers were very nice and did a great job. Service 5 stars. Drinks were very good. Bartenders gets 5 stars.More

We were in Rochester visiting colleges and decided to give this a try on a Monday evening. No trouble getting seated without a reservation. We enjoyed salads and the meatball appetizer, followed by several different pastas (lobster ravioli, carbonara, bolognese). All excellent, though the portions...were so big we took at least half of each one home. Nice selection of wines and desserts, too. And the service was attentive and very nice! Not cheap, but worth the price.More

Actual rating is a 3.5. This was a family visit for dinner with our adult children. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The restaurant is quite noisy but the ambiance is nice. Service was good but the timing was very slow - we spent...a lot of time looking for our waitress, ready for the next course, drink refills, bill. The food is good but nothing earth-shattering, especially for the hefty price tag. It would have to be a very special occasion for us to return.More

Two families had a great time here. The outdoor seating area has wonderful ambience, with live music, overlooking the Genesse River and the Kodak headquarters. The food is of good flavor and generous portion. The servers were engaging.

This restaurant so far is one of my favorites The environment was relaxing, there was live music but not loud We were seated outside and the view was amazing but was windy and it felt cold to me so the waiter gave me her scarf...until a table opened up inside by the time we were eating appetizers they moved us inside The staff was friendly and care about our experience Was the only restaurant that I saw the waiter acknowledged and talked to my godson who is 2 years old and making sure that he gets a plastic cup and get his dinner quickly Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious from the appetizers to the entree to the dessert and even the cappuccino was good For my daughter who is vegetarian they had choices and she loved it I would recommend it to everyoneMore

We're starting to venture out to our favorite Rochester restaurants, so Pane Vino on the River is high on our list of returning restaurants. We were hoping to eat outside to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary, but alas Rochester weather was fickle today with high...winds and low 70's temps...so we dined inside. We were greeted promptly by the free valet parking attendant, and seated immediately for our 6:30pm reservation. Guest who are fully vaccinated may choose to not wear a mask throughout the facility. Unvaccinated guests are welcome, but must wear a mask when not seated. Nobody 'checked' our Excelsior Pass status or asked if we were vaccinated. So it's an honor system. With all the COVID formalities now documented...let's get onto dinner. Our server was Jasmine and she was phenomenal. Timely and attentive from introduction to paying our bill. She expertly explained the dinner specialties and answered a few questions my wife had regarding preparation. We started with martinis from the bar. Both were spot on. For an appetizer we shared the spicy calamari and asked if it could be saute'd rather than flash fried. Not a problem. We shared a ceasar salad. And I'd advise sharing apps and a salad if you want to have any room for dinner. For entrees my wife chose the salmon and I chose the blackened shrimp. My wife is very picky and specific wrt to her salmon prep and she asked Jasmine if the 'standard cooking temp' could be modified to meet her desire. "Of course", was Jasmine's reply. And the chef was spot on. By the time we were done...there was a whole additional meal of leftovers remaining. Total bill with tip was $165. Reasonable we felt for this specific dinning experience. Hopefully the HOT weather will eventually settle in so we can return to dine in the outside courtyard.More
