Nine of us met for a small retirement party at Agatina's and everyone left happy. Service was excellent, food was out of this world, and prices were very reasonable. The freshest food was served and we had zero complaints. Keep up the great work.
Haven't been to this place since I was in college, but decided to check it out again recently for a date night dinner. The staff were very friendly, and the food was absolutely delicious. The veal is so tender and melts in your mouth. Will...definitely be adding Agatina's into the rotation for dinner spots when we hit the movies at Tinseltown nearby.More
I ordered dinner online at about 4:24 PM on a Wednesday. I chose 5:30 as a pickup time. I got to the restaurant at approximately 5:25 and had to wait until after 6 PM for my order. When I questioned the staff, I was told...they are doing the best they can..
When I finally got my dinner and got home to eat it, I found that the order was incorrect. I ordered a side salad to go with the entrée and was given soup instead. The entrée was veal asiago. By any standards the veal was tough and the dish had too much salt. For the price paid both the meal and the service was inferior. There are other Italian Restaurants near by which are a much better value.More
We had another amazingly good meal there last night. The place was crowded (as always), and we were seated within about five minutes of arriving. (We arrived ahead of our reservations.) My soup (New England Clam Chowder) and salad were both very good. For my...main course, I ordered the Seafood Bouillabaisse, which was also very good. Nice al dente linguine with lots of shrimp, scallops, and chopped clams were spread throughout. My only complaint, though, with our entire visit was with this dish. While it was very good, it was EXTREMELY salty, especially the shrimp inside the dish. I mean, I like my food salted, but this was beyond extreme. I think someone in the kitchen made a mistake on this somewhere. Anyway, the portion was huge, and I good not finish it all, which is OK. My wife (who had a fish dish) and my daughter (spaghetti & meatballs) both enjoyed their food as well. After dinner, I couldn’t resist – I ordered some dessert. I got the Andes Mint Chocolate Mint cake. OMG….it was AMAZING!!! One of the best desserts I’ve had in Rochester in years! Our server was also very good…friendly, quick, and made great recommendations. Overall, this was simply a great meal at this old Rochester classic Italian restaurant. I highly recommend it to anyone.More
I will say first that the service was outstanding, despite the fact that the restaurant was packed and consequently very loud. However, my chicken marsala was the worst I have ever had. Rather than the chicken being pan fried first, what was presented looked more...like a boiled chicken breast with a glaze poured over it. It was very unappetizing in appearance and close to tasteless. While I prefer a creamy Marsala sauce, I realize that it doesn't have to be (and, to be fair, I didn't ask) but that really would have helped. There was no garnish or an attempt to even make it appear more appetizing, which I noticed was the same for the others at our table. I don't like writing a negative review because this is a local restaurant for me and obviously a favorite of many. As I said, the service was great but the food was not.More
We started with the clams casino, they were very good.
Ordered the prime rib special with crab stuffed shrimp, too much lemon for me, but hubby said it was fine.
Overall a nice dinner. Very busy place, call ahead for a reservation!
Dinner with out of town guest was disappointing. Service was very slow-way too long to get a second drink, bread re-fill .We could see our server running around, she was either overextended or someone called in. My husband never got his dinner salad and the...food was tasty but not hot at all. Unfortunately there was a large party blocking us into a corner table and we could not hear each other talk . Will think long and hard before we go back.More
