This is the 2nd time I tried Sinbads and I can truthfully say it is the BEST Mediterranean food I have ever had. We started out with a super-creamy Hummus and Pita. It is delicious and even a little more tangy than what you would...find elsewhere. My wife had the Schmandar Salad and added marinated chicken. She loved how fresh the salad was as well as the the beets that were included. My daughter had the Chicken Kabob, stuffed with veggies and chicken and wrapped in a baked pita like a warm blanket! My son had the Gyro Pita and is still talking about it days later. I had the chicken pita, which came with savory marinated chicken and Feta Cheese with onions and vegetables. When they toast the Pita, everything just melts together, and then in your mouth. I’m obsessing over that Pita too! With one glass of wine, the total with tax and tip came to $72, very reasonable. Henry, our server, was on point. Until next time…More

The portions are huge, the food is tasty and the service is great. What else can you ask for? We ordered two of the specials: the mashawi (Grilled chicken and beef tucked into a garlic pita, with sautéed mushrooms, asparagus, and tomatoes with choice of...salad) and the sambusket (A medley of chicken, tomatoes, mushrooms, onions, and parmesan, toasted in a pita with choice of salad). The entrees are delicately flavored and not overpowering with one taste or another. The sambusket was folded over and lightly toasted with a crisp outside. The salads are also huge. You will be taking food home. We had extraordinary table service, so things worked out well. Good dining in Rochester.More

Grabbed a quick lunch on Park Ave. su bars is now open for inside dining! Staff (Julia) was super-helpful. The Hummus was to die for! My son has a Gyro Pita and he RAVED about it! I had the Chicken Pita and it was the...best I have ever had. The seasoning of the chicken was mouth-watering. I loved the way the toasted the Pita after they made it so that is was crusty. It’s a casual atmosphere. Total bill came to $30 for the two of us with tip.More

Driving down Park Ave and looking for a place to eat and decided on Sinbad's. My girlfriend loves this type of food and wanted to try it so we started off with a tasty appetizer of FALAFEL (mildly spiced tender fava beans and chickpeas with...tahini yogurt dressing). My girlfriend didn't care for the yogurt dressing by I did, but we both enjoyed them. My girlfriend really wanted the TABOULEH (A nutritious salad of parsley, scallions, tomatoes, and bulgur seasoned with olive oil and lemon juice) which is great with pita bread. She got a CHICKEN PITA (Toasted) (Grilled chicken with tomatoes, scallions, and feta cheese) which she liked but afterwards she admitted she should have gotten the eggplant instead. I decided to go with the FARROUJ (Marinated Cornish hen, roasted and served with garlic pita and choice of salad). This was incredible. I haven't had Cornish hen in 20 years and it just hit the spot. I don't eat Mediterranean often, but this is a place I would recommend to get it. We both enjoyed our meals and would like to go backMore

Don't spend your hard earned money at this place. Employees here don't believe in respecting the very customers that are trying to keep them in business during the pandemic. Plenty of better restaurants that value the people that support them are located nearby. Spend money...there and help them survive.More

The owner was pretty rude when we said we wanted to have the food at the restaurant after we pre-ordered food.

The Good: the Melintzano was really really good and the Gyro plate was amazing. The Feta on the Falafel plate was so creamy. Best Feta I've ever had. The Baba was delicious too but please don't cut the pita in such small triangles. They should...be cut about twice as big as that in order to eat properly. The Bad: the Falafel was cold and dry. It seemed to be leftovers from the weekend. Falafel should be crispy outside with a warm and moist center. This was probably the worst Falafel I have ever had and couldn't get anyone else to help me eat them because of how dry and stale they tasted. The Noise: We ate outside so traffic noise was expected but there was a white food-delivery car parked in front of the restaurant that sat there for about 15-20 minutes with loud booming obnoxious music and nobody was in the car until he walked out with his delivery. Was this an employee? Or GrubHub/DoorDash? Hopefully our next visit will be better with respect to the noisy delivery car and I certainly won't order their Falafel unless they guarantee it will be made fresh to order as it should.More

It's not a fancy restaurant but it's a good place to eat Mediterranean food. The environment is simple, but the service is fast and attentious. They are concerned about whether everything is good. After placing our order, it didn't take long time. We ordered a...Sinbad salad, a Gyro Pita, a Demeh Pita and Funghi pasta; all of them were delicious. The prices were fair. When back to Rochester I'll be back there.More

Had high expectations after reading all the positive reviews, but unfortunately left disappointed. As a Middle Easterner we take our food seriously. The food had too much of everything salt, spices, lemon, vinegar. The kibbeh was disappointing, I don’t even know where to start. The...kofta was dry, the salad too much lemon and vinegar, the bread cold and old. The fresh lemonade, tasteless. However, the service is very good, and quantities of food plentiful. However, I have to apologize for being blunt, but the food was disappointing.More

I went here with high expectations, finding Sinbad's to be a top-rated Rochester restaurant. What I found was good that was mostly just average and sometimes downright poor. Their falafel were quite dry and not very flavorful. I baklava was stale, even when they opened...a new box after I complained the first time. I did not think this restaurant deserved its high rating and suspect that the only reason it is so celebrated is due to a lack of competition from other restaurants in the area serving Mediterranean cuisine.More

... and maybe casual dining in general. Laid back deco and atmosphere that was slightly updated several years ago: works as well as ever. Excellent food, good drinks, kind service. Muzak quality is mixed, I would prefer more authentic tunes, but I liked most of...it. And the food is so good, you don’t really mind anything else.More
