This is one of the best Asian restaurants in Rochester. Superb for lunch and dinner but the ambiance lends itself to lunch.

Very few places let you customize your meal like Ming's. You pick from many styles of noodles, then a paricular combination of vegetables and spices, and then select your meat. The combinations are endless. Plus a good selection of appetizers.

Ordered the Pho - tasteless broth; weird chicken pieces; very wilted basil; overall wretched. The bathroom was dirty and the staff grumpy and unenthusiastic. Several years ago we came here and it was good. Not any more,

Don't let the small unassuming space fool you, the food is great here. Certainly a cut above almost any other place in the area. The last I checked it was cooked by Ming himself. Fantastic for noodle dishes as well as the usual favorites. Ming...really cooks though, so check if there are specials when you are there- these can truly be special!More

With only about 12 seats at tables and 4 at the "bar," this is not a place for large crowds or "fine dining." The chef and prep areas are visible so you know the food is fresh and cooked to order. While they specialize in...noodles, and have a huge variety, you can also get stir-fries in a wide range of styles. The Mango Spring rolls were special and everything was tasty. Busy on a Saturday night.More

I have been to this restaurant several times hoping for a better experience. It gets worst and worst. last night I ordered 2 take out orders in separate bags. The woman(owner) got nasty because the two of us asked for separate bills. I was in...shock that this was an issue for this lady. What is the big deal. The squid was oily and chewy. Not very good. This place needs to clean up their attitude or they will lose more customers. The chef seems to be a reasonable person and generally I like the food. What is woman is something else.More

If you want a more authentic Chinese meal, go to Mings. Their noodles are wonderful. I highly recommend the Duck Ho Fun. There aren't many places you can find duck on the menu for a reasonable price, but Mings has got it. A quaint little...restaurant located in the South Wedge part of the city. We've gone there for years, and the owners know who we are. The service is quick & friendly. The food is fresh. The prices are good. Oftentimes, "Kelly" will serve a complimentary plate of fruit with the fortune cookies & bill to end out a delicious meal. We used to live within walking distance of Mings, so we'd walk to dinner and then walk down the street to the Cinema for a fun date night. Highly recommended as our favorite Chinese restaurant!More

From appearances, the restaurant looks rough....open kitchen and prep area, small seating area, located in the Swillburg part of Rochester, but the food is great. Dishes change to meet whatever is fresh for the season, large portions are normal and they boast a pretty big...menu (covers a bunch of asian dishes) without cheapening any of them. The Shanghai Noodle Udon with Chicken is a favourite. If you're lucky, chef "Chicken Wing" will be cooking and IMHO, he makes good food even better. I wish this place was closer to where I live 'cause I'd be eating here more often.More

Ming's Noodles is a perennial favorite. Small place with 5 or 6 tables and an attached open kitchen. Well kept and a big step up from ordinary Chinese take-out places with their few cold sterile tables in them. Run by the same three people for...years. The noodle dishes and noodle soups are what you should come here for. I recommend the Chow Fun noodles - the fat rice noodles - either curry style or with black bean sauce. Good service, very good food, nice neighborhood restaurant, good for kids, very pleasant homey atmosphere and very reasonable. Usually voted No 1 for Asian noodles each year in "Best of Rochester" competition. The lunch specials are a good value but are the typical Chinese - venture into the noodle side no matter the time of day.More
