So u must know this was going to be my new favorite Chinese restaurant. Live nearby & all was well until today. Boo. Ordered some food for my day off treat as I am recuperating from Covid okay. So excited for it! Girl calls &...says it's on my porch. No food on my porch. Again boo. Call back & lo & behold she thought I said a different street name which is strange since they've delivered here b4! Over an hour later finally get my lunch special. Not too special b/c something tells me that they grabbed it from the wrong doorstep & dropped it here. Third boo. Didn't taste steaming fresh & my gut which is very intuitive says hmmmmmm.... I guess I won't be going there any more. Darn.More

A very authentic meal in a small setting. The food is fresh, delicious, and a huge menu. I wanted to try it all. Friendly staff, and you can tell many repeat customers.

I had the beef and meatball pho and steamed spring rolls. The spring rolls were fresh and flavorful. The pho was delicious. I ordered for delivery and the food arrived 15 min earlier than promised. I will try this restaurant again and recommend it to...others.More

This restaurant is just another restaurant posing as an asian food restaurant that is really just trying to rip off dumb americans who don't know anything about asian food...or food at all. Those who dine in get better presentation, but that doesn't change the fact...that the food is lackluster at best, and a complete insult to you as a customer at worst. What you get when you order here are the bare minimum. They will leave out tons of ingredients. If you order a noodle dish for instance, you will get noodles, with a bit of sauce, and maybe one vegetable like broccoli, with some carrot shavings. Even if you order a specific dish that is supposed to consist of certain ingredients to actually be that dish, you will get a recipe that is missing all the key ingredients, and thus will not actually be what you ordered. For instance I ordered a soup that was supposed to be in a coconut broth. What I got was a soup with no coconut what so ever, and thus the key flavor for that soup was absent. I also ordered a curry noodle dish that was supposed to come with a specific mix of vegetables. What I got was plain noodles with carrot shavings and broccoli. No mixed vegetables, and no real curry flavor. I could tell they didn't even add curry powder because this dish would have been yellow if they had used it, the turmeric in the curry paints things a neon yellow even if you only use a little. But these noodles were white. The kicker is that I had even asked them specifically if they were sure they would be able to make that kind of curry because I wasn't sure, and they assured me that they could. I also had ordered a bowl of soup only to get a cup. They just can't seem to get anything right in this restaurant, both the ingredients and the size. Whats the point of ordering at a place where they cant get your order right? And whats the point of going to an asian food restaurant if you aren't even going to be getting the asian dishes that you order, but are just going to be ripped off? Problem was that I had gotten this food for delivery, so once I got it I was stuck with it. And of course they knew that, which is why they ripped me off that way. Because thats all their customers are to them, people to rip off, who they assume don't know anything about food, and don't care either. So if you do, avoid this restaurant.More

We found the tiny restaurant on Monroe Ave though Trip Advisor. Asian restaurants in Rochester seem to serve more than one kind of ethnic cooking and we were looking for Thai. New Ming had decent pad thai that was tasty but no peanuts on top....The panang curry had plenty of shrimp and vegetables. It was Thai with a Chinese twist.More

Modest prices with great tasting food. The Kung Pao chicken is my favorite. Crispy with a great sauce that I can't find anywhere else. The Karen and her family are always very friendly. Pay a visit and support this hard working family

At the spot of the former Cobbs Hill pizza, New Ming serves up big food in a relatively small little space. The Chinese staples are reliable, but the noodle dishes are the real standouts: Singapore, Udon, Bun, Pad Thai are all quite good. The food...is excellent, and frankly the place should be jammed all the time. Recommended!More

We go to Karen's New Ming restaurant because not only is the food great but its made by the family that has been making Asian food in this community for ages. The Pho and the Bánh cuốn and Panang and Phat Thai are our favorites....Say hi to Karen from "Dorothy" when you go!More

Not a traditional Chinese restaurant but it is a nice Asian fusion restaurant featuring Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese dishes. There are also quite a few vegetarian dishes on the menu. The flavors were very fresh and enticing. It is located in a storefront with no...off the street parking that I could see. They offer delivery within a 5 mile radius of the restaurant. One feature is that you can make take-out orders on line. It is like shopping at Amazon. You pick the items you want. Put them in your cart. Go to the check out and pay for you food in the comfort of your home. They you just go and pick it up.More

This is a wonderful neighborhood Asian noodle restaurant. Sure, you can get other things, but the noodles and the pho are delicious. Karen makes sure everyone gets great service and the prices are very very reasonable. I keep going back, and my family loves it...too!More

This is my second time trying to eat dinner at New Ming. I was excited all day about the Pineapple Fried Rice i was going to order. When my sister and i walked in they told us to find a table, then proceeded to ignore...us for more than 15 minutes. We got up and walked out. I'm really disappointed and won't ever try to eat there again. Their last shot with me is delivery, we'll see how that goes on Tuesday.More

The chef and front management of the burned out House of Poon at one time operated this low-key Asian bistro with many of the same dishes. It was excellent. I don't know if they're still involved and I caught them on an off night, but...man, things are not what they once were. It's hard to park nearby and we hadn't been in a while for that reason. We ordered two old favorites for take-out the other evening. One dish was as good as it ever was, although the portion was a bit smaller. (I get it, the chicken isn't as inexpensive as it once was--but can I have more veggies rather than 2/3 of a carton?), and the other was a major, watery, disappointment. In addition to the miserable garlic sauce, the scallops were deep-fried (not mentioned on the menu) and their coating falling off, the broccoli limp and sparse, the sauce both thin and flavorless. Even rice portions were kind of skimpy. I guess I'm still looking for a good Chinese eatery to replace House of Poon. I have to wonder if the addition of other Asian cuisines has weakened the powerhouse which was once the kitchen,More

Best Chineese food- But VERY expensive- Small portions. Service is great, the price is just not what you would expect. I guess if you want really good food- and are willing to except small portions at a large price- Then this is a good place...for you.More
