The only real smokehouse left in Rochester. Lots of choices, all very good homemade and home smoked sausages. Big portions of really good German food.

Family owned and operated for many years. More than a market, Swans is an excellent meat market and compact restaurant. Traditional German dishes, schnitzel, sauerbraten, and every type of wurst you can imagine. They serve beer with their meals, as it should be!

They have the best liverwurst and liverwurst paste. Nice clean place. Good German food. Prices are good.

My parents have always been a fan of Swans and finally last year I went with my father. Whenever I am not working we go to lunch there. You can't beat the food, and great atmosphere. The waitresses are the best. I have never had a meal that hasn't been exceptional. I wish they were open more than lunch, I... More

First rate food and beer at a reasonable price. The sides (potato salad and red cabbage made in house) are worth the trip. I have company coming so I couldn't wait to get to the meat case to stock up on sausages for the grill.

Truly a unique experience. From the cold cuts to the salads, to the imported items, this is true German meat market, and they know how to cook, too! The atmosphere is pure nostalgia, and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. A small shop with limited seating. If you love real German food, this is the place for you. Parking is... More

Rather crowded, long tables set up family style, and not too many of them. Never know who will be at ypur table. All the food in German with an emphasis on cabbage, sauerkraut, schnitzel, and sausage. Everyone we were with raved about the food. I do not particularly like cabbage or sauerkraut, but yhe schnitzek was excellent. You can purchase... More

Tried the Jager Schnitzel with potato salad and noodles ($8.50) and a 16 oz Spatan ($4.00). Excellent food and I was stuffed!!! Reminded me of my mothers cooking. The owner was sitting in his corner making small talk with the patrons….a very nice gentleman. Don't waste your money at the fast food joints…..enjoy some authentic German cooking at a very... More

Went to lunch here with some friends who suggested it. Never having been and not a huge fan of German food (or so I thought), I was hesitant. Our waitress suggested I get the sampler platter so I did. The pork cutlet with gravy was amazing as was the potato salad. Everything else on the plate was very appetizing also.... More

From the minute you step in the door way, the smell of German food and fresh German meats and sausages delights your senses. OMG, this place is a throwback to the olde country with beers, sausage, bologna, the whole shebang. My family grew up on food from Germany and Swans is the real deal. Anyone and everyone with a German... More

Description
All meat at Swan Market is hand-cut, all sausage hand-made by owner Barry Fischer, who apprenticed with German master butchers to bring you a taste of Germany that's authentic down to the last detail.

Swan's renowned German lunches are served Wednesday through Saturday from 11 to 2. Grab a seat at one of the communal tables and hoist a glass of imported German beer. It's impossible to go away hungry! There's also live German music on the last Thursday and Friday of each month.

Wan can also cater events of any size, with anything from cold-cut trays to a full pig roast.
