Enjoy casual American dining in a beautifully restored 1916 firehouse. Filled with local memorabilia, and a special gallery dedicated to the Charlotte community in the Downtime Pub. Now a favorite for casual dining.

The food was excellent. I have really enjoyed their pizza and fish fry in recent weeks. I don’t eat meat other than fish any more and feel there was a decent choice for me which is not always the case at bar/restaurants. There is a nice supply of beers and the waitresses was knowledgeable and willing to talk to you about the food and bee even though they were busy. Quality service has been consistent over several visits. We were able to get a seat in the bar area or basement without a reservation on a Friday evening. We preferred the bar area. The is a nice fire house decor. I suggest calling for a reservation. This place is now near the top of my list for casual dining in the Charlotte/Irondequoit area.

Cool building, decent food

My family went here for dinner on a Sunday night and wanted to eat on the patio. The main reason coming to this establishment was because of the patio but upon our arrival we were told they weren't serving tonight on the patio. This made no sense on a beautiful, warm, sunny summer evening still during a pandemic but the doors were wide open so it was still well ventilated. I ordered the Sweet Heat Pepperoni Pizza but unfortunately this was very overpriced for a mediocre pizza. The description sounds great but there was no sweet nor heat. The red cherry peppers tasted like roasted red peppers and had zero heat. There definitely was no sweet honey taste either and no sight of any honey drizzled on the pizza. The dispatch burger was really good though and really tasty. It was like a Greek burger with all the feta cheese and spices.

Historic Building with excellent Memorabilia. Loud, Hot, and Not Accommodating

Nice bar. Diluted cocktails. Hot inside, loud ceiling fans were not on. Fried pickles were excellent. The salads were good. The chef could not be bothered with a simple pasta and sauce dish. Macaroni and cheese were terrible. Crabs cakes for others were good. Overpriced, under-staffed.

Meh Dressed Up Bar Food

We have been to this restaurant a few times over the past few years and after eating, always asked ourselves why. I guess maybe it's been the convenient location, but we are done. The atmosphere is ok, but the menu and actual food are sub-par. After struggling to find anything interesting on the menu, we have upset stomachs after each meal - too much grease maybe? For what you get, the prices are quite steep (including the bar drinks) and the service is average at best. Hard lessons learned - we will go elsewhere from now on. There are better restaurants in the area. Needs new management maybe? Too bad.

Great service, very accommodating

We scheduled a last minute team dinner here - the service and the food were great. We had over 25 people - more people came than we anticipated and the staff was very accommodating.. Special thank you to Ashley who was practically running the whole time we were there to keep up with orders and deliver food. The resteraunt was near the lake and the atmosphere was fun. There was a great spot outside with a fire pit for the team to hang out after dinner while the parents finished up dinner. Loved the burgers and fried pickles! Highly recommend.

Nice place, great food.

Waitress was attentive, food was a bit slow in coming out (I believe they had an event upstairs). Food was all quite good though (Black bean burger, blackened chix sandwich and pizza) and spouse enjoyed the flight of beer). Fun space/decor.

Enjoyed my first visit

I was in the area for work. I discovered this place after going for a walk. I sat at the bar and ordered a vanilla porter, loaded salad with sautéed mushrooms and French onion soup. Everything was really good!

This restaurant is awesome! They have a perfect selection of food, wine, beer and spirits. They also have specialty drinks. Their menu is fantastic with vegetarian options, gluten free options and dairy free options. They are family friendly and have outdoor dining. I highly recommend this restaurant for everyone. We come here often for a great meal and drinks.

Excellent service, reasonable prices and really good food. Something for everyone. Our first visit and we will go back. I had the chicken sandwich which was very tasty - not like any others I’ve had. They put their spin on their offerings. Highly recommend.

What happened?

The food was disappointing. 5 Scallops over rice? For $27 it was outrageous and not expected. Prices are high and portions are small. I understand surviving in a Covid world but we will not return with what happened to us. Ridiculous to say the least.

Little historical gem of a restaurant

The food was amazing. I had the crab cakes they were a really nice size. Not your little bite-size crab cakes here. The sides were a rice pilaf, which was good and corn-on-the-cob, which was unique and delicious. To drink a had a local black cherry hard cider, which was very tasty. I was so full I took dessert to go. Service was top notched. Waitress was always around and checking on us. Ambiance was the best part. Restaurant is a restored 1918 firehouse. Inside, they have all different kinds of fire house & fighter antiques. Recommend you use open table, use other reservation apps, or call for reservations during dinner times. Very busy when we went had a 25-30 min wait. There is a bar if you choose to wait there. It's definitely worth the wait. We will be back to this little gem.

Very cool place
