The prices are reasonable and there's a lot of good menu options. The food is average but it's worth checking out if you're in the area. The atmosphere for dining in feels very homey and gives you the small town charm of Rhinebeck.
Very nice. Just a pretty straightforward breakfast, but there was a little twist in that one of the meat options was pastrami or corned beef (you could also get the usual options of ham or sausage).
The breakfast potatoes could have been a little crispier...(they were pretty mushy) but I still enjoyed them.
Service was good.
Outdoor seating was sufficiently spaced out for covid conditions.More
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, restaurants in Downtown Rhinebeck have gotten creative with dining and since the weather has gotten nicer, all the restaurants have adapted to outdoor dining outside the restaurants. It is very clever and also very nice to eat outside on a...sunny afternoon.
The service as usual was very pleasant and friendly and very attentive. The town of Rhinebeck was really busy and people filled the tables of all the restaurants, this one included. There was lively conversations all over the place with families walking around while others were eating.
It was nice to sit outside under a umbrella and enjoy the meal. I had a wonderful and very large Turkey Club sandwich loaded with freshly sliced turkey, fresh lettuce and tomato on white toasted bread with pile of freshly fried French fries. The meal was wonderful and filling on a hot day. The waitress kept bringing free refills of soda which was very nice.
It was a very pleasurable experience and I highly recommend a trip to Downtown Rhinebeck NY for lunch or dinner.More
We had breakfast here and it was very nice. Kind of a homey diner style place. They served large omelettes with home fried potatoes. Coffee was fresh and kept on coming. Friendly staff made us feel like regulars. Good prices and good food. Can't ask...for more than that!More
The food was very good and the service was great. Friendly staff greeted us when we walked in and it just got better as the enjoyed a nice Sunday Brunch. We almost went to Famous Pete's in Poughkeepsie .... these are not owned by the...same people. we were staying in Poughkeepsie, but planned an outing to Rhinebeck, otherwise we would have ventured there instead. We might try them next time just to see how they compare.More
I was upstate for a function and stopped at Pete's Famous for dinner. On a cool gloomy night, I had the hot turkey platter with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The chicken rice soup was really good after a cold night out. It had a rich...chicken stock base and was loaded with rice.
The hot turkey platter was loaded with a thick turkey gravy and the mashed potatoes were loaded with butter and cream. The whole thing hit the spot on a cool night to warm me up.
The service there is always friendly and accomodating.More
It's a diner. You get what you would expect in a diner. Decent food, decent service, everyone rough around the edges. The prices were good and the portions as you would expect. They really should call themselves a diner because that is exactly what it...is. I love diners. I will likely never give a 5 star review to a diner unless it's City Diner in Stamford, which calls itself a diner but is a restaurant.
They close early, so check times before going. (That's the only thing about them that isn't like a diner!)More
