While I have visited Terrapin on quite a few trips to Rhinebeck with my daughter for lunch at the bistro this time it was dinner with my husband. Terrapin did not disappoint and the food was on point as always! They are extremely accommodating with any food allergy and cook to order. Wonderful place for just a bite and drink... More

Food was good however dishes were placed in front of our party and the waiter left without inquiring if we needed anything else. Had to find the waiter, who was over in the corner conversing with colleagues to ask for water. Had to ask for additional Parmesan cheese, which was delivered without a spoon. Guess I was supposed to use... More

We recently visited the bistro on a Saturday Night. The food was good - we had the salmon and veggies. It was a bit noisy, though. Cool place - a converted church - high ceilings and windows. It was fun! Would like to go back and eat in the restaurant.

We decided to stop here for lunch before heading back to Michigan. We opted to choose outside seating for the view. We started with the buffalo and blue nachos to share. They were excellent. We all choose different items for lunch. They were all good. Kayla was very attentive and gave us some great recommendations on the menu. We really... More

Stopped by Terrapin on a busy Saturday night and sat in the Bistro section. This place was pretty highly rated, so I was very surprised at how bad the food was. Got the Baja fish tacos (maybe not the best choice, but I love a good Baja fish taco). Turned out to be the worst I have ever had. The... More

Set in an historic 1825 church in Reinbeck, NY, Terrapin serves local organic ingredients, whenever possible, in a casual bistro like atmosphere. The menu is very interesting and offers many options including small dishes (Tapas). My appetizer--potato Gnocchi with sautéed duck livers, shitake mushrooms and leeks was perfectly prepared and quite delicious. I had the horseradish-crusted sushi-grade Ahi tuna for... More

It was the Saturday of Labor Day weekend. My friends and I had driven to Rhinebeck for the Open Artists' Studio Visits. We arrived and walked around a bit to "explore" Rhinebeck. We decided to eat outdoors at Terrapin. It was a perfect day for outdoor dining. The menu was very varied and interesting. Each of the three of us... More

After my first visit I couldn't wait to go back unfortunately my second visit was far more disappointing than my first visit was impressive. Will not be going back myself as I don't like the hit or miss with who works in the kitchen, plus the second time the service was just awful.

We had just completed a fantastic day paddling at nearby Atlantic Kayak Tours. We were in need of a good beer and a fine dinner to cap off a perfect day. The Bistro side of Terrapin fit the bill very nicely! A number of excellent craft beers satisfied our thirst. And the locally sourced meals we're a perfect way to... More
