With nice weather, we ate at outside patio. It was clean and off the Main Street a bit, so not so noisy. We had a Cali Burger and a Sliced London Broil Sandwich. Both were cooked med rare as we asked. Both were served with delicious sides of our choosing. Coleslaw was tasty. We ordered Bacon Blue Steak Fries as... More

Thanks for your comprehensive review and description of Foster's! You really hit the nail on the head. We've been in business since 1965 under the same family ownership, and we get it. Service, food, and value are the keys to our success!! See you soon.... More

We have been dining at Foster's Coach House for years. After I read about the shakeup between the owner and staff, who all quit, this was the beginning of the end of this restaurant. Since the original chef left and Foster's had closed for quite some time, they came out with a new menu under the new chef. We first... More

There was some renovations recently and change of staff, I used to go on a regular basis, but have tried returning. The prices are higher than before, and the menu does not include some previous favorites, like clams on the half shell. I miss the booths and the more modernized" dinning area, does not provide the same cozy feel, like having all those new... More

Greetings from Foster's! Sorry that you missed the Clams On The Half Shell...we always have them on the menu. Look under Appetizers. By the way, we have Blue Point Oysters, too. Staff does change from time to time as our long-time staff retires. So glad that you remember them fondly. It will just take a bit of time to get... More

Ever one who knew Bob, misses Bob. However, Foster's Coach House continues with Bob's philosophy of fresh, fairly priced food cooked to perfection served with a smile. We KNOW you'll be back when you tire of trendy food. Thank you for your comments, and remembrance of Bob! More

Good place for a burger, with some chicken offerings. Quick service, handy for when you're on your way to the movies next door. Noisy, good for families.

Fosters is dependable fare and fried is common. Fast service and outdoor option make this one of the best for kids in Rhinebeck.

Dark bar but very friendly and a good place to watch sport. Seems to be quite poplar with locals and visitors alike.

A comfy, cool, and dark drinking spot on a very hot day does the trick. Add in some Wimbledon semis and Euro 2016 and we have a winner!!!! More

A Friday night the four of us hit the road to Rhinebeck, about an hour away. This is a typical tavern, although larger inside than we thought. Friend and I had Blackeyed Susan's to drink, the guys had beers. The drinks were light on the vodka, but good tasting. We shared potato skins at the table, plenty for the four... More

Ate here 4th of July weekend 2016 with another couple. Had just spent the day at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrone and was looking for a place to perhaps get a nice scotch ale or perhaps a porter to go with some scrod or shrimp. The first bad sign was that the beer list had only SIX beers listed! SIX! Bud... More

Our Tavern has been operating since 1890, and has been owned by the same family since 1965. Good drinks, a full bar, excellent cold beers and ales, and wines complement our extensive, classic menu. We think that maybe you were looking for more of a micro brewery. We are not that type of place, but more of a Rhinebeck institution... More

I visited Foster's on Sunday 6-26 for my birthday dinner accompanied by my wife, sister and brother in-law. Positives: upon arrival we were asked if we wanted to be seated outside and since it was a great summer evening said yes. The drinks are a good size. Prices are reasonable. Not So Positives: The first table we were offered was... More

We are glad that you had drinks out on the patio. It is such a special spot in the heart of town. We will continue to monitor the wraps for the silverware that fall onto the ground. We don't like the litter either. Thank you for your eagle eyes!! More
