The food is good but the prices are more of what you pay in Manhattan...Nice atmosphere inside. Would of like to see more choices.

This local treat can easily be missed, as it sits among a number of stores in a small strip mall on New Hackensack Road, with inconspicuous signage. However, inside is an understated, elegant restaurant, with an impressively large menu, highly professional service, and wonderful food. Lunch and dinner entrees, several daily specials, and a range of price points, means something... More

I do not understand why Le Express Bistro is rated only 27 out of 222 restaurants in Poughkeepsie. I have nothing against the restaurants ranked ahead of Le Express, but a real foodie should appreciate the difference between causal fine dining, pub grub, dinners, and fast food. Le Express is casual fine dining at its best. Forget about the strip... More

We met our friends who suggested this restaurant. It was our first (but not last) time. We all had the prix fixe but various versions. We were all very happy with the dishes. The hen-of-the-wood dish was excellent. The braised duck with papardelle (freshly made) was very good. The wine was reasonably priced, although overall this restaurant is a bit... More

The Bistro set in a strip mall and has shut out the traffic view with hand painted farm scenes. The pre-fix menu for restaurant week had a smoked trout tartine appetizer. I felt it was one of the best smoke trout, I had eaten. The small piece trout was served on grilled sourdough bread that had been covered with whipped... More

My wife and I ate dinner here tonight and were very happy with the food and service. Our waitress, Rachel, had an amazing memory for reciting the details of every special offered. Even when asked about menu listed offerings, she responded with helpful nuances. The food was served hot and finely prepared. Careful attention was given to my wife's braised... More

My daughter and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. The place was pretty full. We ordered the tomato appetizer to share, Duck confit entrée and a pasta entrée. The tomato's were soft and mealy, dressing was tasteless. The duck tasted old and the pasta served with it were undercooked and hard. The other pasta dish wasn't any better,... More

What a wonderful surprise in a little strip mall! The food was amazing! We went there for Father's Day and we're still talking about it- everything was fresh, the owner/ chef came out to talk with us, and the decor is delightful, simple and elegant.

Located in an unassuming strip mall, this was a surprise find. Had a nice , though overpriced, dinner with friends. The restaurant was extremely warm and with the back door left open , we had to battle with a couple of annoying flies. I would like to try it again when the A/C is on or during cooler temps.

My husband and I drove right by this place many times not noticing it. It doesn't look as cute from the outside as it is on the inside. The service was good and our meals were large and prepared as we asked. But you must try the polenta fries for an appetizer.
