Amazing food, bad service

Luckily the pepper has amazing food because the service is awful. My friend and I went there last night, it was busy for a Saturday, but not as busy as I've seen it be before. My friend and I waited for over 1 hour (the hostess told us 20 minutes wait at the most). We had to wait over 25... read more

A little overrated, but I am not a spicey food guy. Locals like it, but I don't feel it is anything special. Pick another place in town.

I live in Plattsburgh, and The Pepper is probably my favorite restaurant in town. They make the best margaritas (the black and Rolls Royce margs are my favorite) and delicious food - the fish tacos and carnitas are recommended. It's in downtown Plattsburgh, within walking distance of most bars if you're looking for something to eat before going out for... More

I am not a connoisseur of Mexican cuisine. However, I did enjoy the fresh and slightly spicy salsa. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and pointed out the vegetarian options for me. I chose the portobello mushroom and spinach enchilada which came with beans and rice. The food arrived quickly and was very tasty. The only problem is that the portion... More

Incredible Mexican food and service. The prices are very reasonable too. The asparagus and chicken enchiladas are excellent!

Since we hadn't been there for awhile and it was my birthday, we decided to head down to The Pepper for dinner. For a Tuesday, it was unexpectedly busy due to a program at The Strand. Nevertheless, we were seated before we even had a chance to finish our first pint of Mexican beer. Considering the overwhelming crowd, I was... More

My husband usually does not like the pepper but I was able to talk him into going so I could have the tasty margaritas. He now loves it! Thanks for changing his thoughts.

We stopped in to have a quick bite and beverage. The food was excellent and there was lots of it. I couldn't finish my beef burrito. The beef was spectacular and tender. The server was very efficient and friendly. I noticed that there were only two servers and they were really busy and constantly moving. They were doing an exceptional... More

Never dined here although a resident for over 60 years. Tried it on a friday night, big mistake. At 8:00pm place was full and VERY loud. We therefore waited to be seated outside which was a 30 minute wait. Service was slow, well very slow, but when the food finally arrived it was quite good. Not good enough to wait... More

The menu is filled with tasty choices, from mild to spicy. Many vegetarian options as well! The margarita choices are worth every cent - try the lavender one! There is often a wait to be seated but that is because the restaurant is small. Well worth the wait!
