We are from montreal but travel every so often to Plattsburgh for various reasons and always stop to eat somewhere. We use to stop and eat at gus red hots all the time for michigans, but since we found sweeneys, I have gone to gus anymore. The best spicey michigans around. We put mustard and onion on top, reqlly good.... More

A friend recommended this place to try a Buried Michigan. No idea what it might be but it is a local dish and we are all into trying local dishes. It is a little like a Texas Hot. But the sauce has a kick to it and the roll is a Texas style one. The home made fries are crispy... More

One of my favorites stops in Plattsburgh. Michigans are a local tradition and you need to try one if have never had one.

This was my 7 or 8 th trip in the past couple of months. Usually service is fast and red hots great. This time, my wife and I waited for our order for over 50 minutes. I asked 3 times how long it would be and kept getting the same answer. I had time to drink my medium rootbeer and... More

Standard fare with Michigans. Not as good as Clare and Carl's, but more prevalent in the area. If you are doing a tour of Michigans, you can start here and work your way up.

Very good, albeit a tad spicy, michigan hot dogs with steamed rolls. The French fries are good as are their hamburgers. Very casual family dining. Fairly good selection of typical American food. Each order is fresh cooked.

Great food in a north country atmosphere. Wonderful Michigans in an unhurried setting. Proudly owned by a proud, outspoken American! I am proud to support this restaurant and owner.

Love McSweeney's. Their red HOTS are excellent, good tasting and done well. I personally also love those crinkle fries, something about the way they are done makes them delicious. They have a good selection of menu items to choose from and I've never had anything I didn't like. Good tasty food for a fair price. Desserts are yummy also. They... More

we have come here before, several years ago. but, on another visit to town, were told we HAD to try the "Michigans"! we both had those, and they were VERY tasty! also, I have been wanting to try "poutine" (the fries with gravy and cheese), the rather local French Canadian inspired fare? it is not on the menu as poutine,... Their michigans are spicy but very good. You can choose regular fries or hand cut fries, among many other selections.
