The Coal Tower Restaurant is an established icon in the Pittsford dining scene. I had never had lunch here before, but I enjoyed my meal (hot dog and cole slaw) while I was tucked between the counter and a post at the end of the bar. Tight seating, but the place was jammed, so I accepted the cramped seating and... More

Overall a great place to stop in for good food! Lots of healthy choices. Great place for breakfast and lunch. Try the pumpkin soup in the fall.

We ate here for breakfast today and it was very good. We were seated immediately and had a great view of the Erie Canal. Our waitress was excellent. The menu is varied for breakfast and there are several specials on most days. We ordered a Barge and the Cornbeef Hash. Both were very good and came out hot. The coffee... More

Great place popular with locals. Only takes cash as payment and reasonably priced. Many people enjoy going here for breakfast but I prefer the lunch menu. Niceplace to eat along the canal. Parking can be a bit challenging during peak times.

We (all 10 of us) enjoyed a delightful lunch after a day of browsing the shops canal side and of course feeding the resident ducks! Well prepared and professionally served, we look forward to our next visit to the area and a reprise of a delightful luncheon experience.

We went for a late brekfast around 10:00am and were quickly seated by friendly staff. My wife and I both had omlettes which were quickly served, tasted great and reasonably price. Certainly would go back again.

We stopped by the Coal Tower for lunch before boarding the Mike Fink canal tour. Pleasantly surprised by the high quality sandwiches at a reasonably price. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. I ordered a Reuben and got the best approximation of a NYCity Reuben than anywhere outside NY. This is casual dining, diner style food.

My husband and I stopped in for a light lunch. The "lead lady" appeared to be too busy for niceties. Witnessed her railing an employee, short with another patron waiting to be seated and overcharged us. When told to have a good day, her reply was, "Yep". I would not go back. Food was okay but high priced for a... More

This restaurant takes you back in time when everyone cared about each other. The waitress saw one of our friends not eating her soup and determined that she didn't like it. She brought something else for her without any of us asking. That's real customer service!
