Went there on a Weds eve for dinner- very heavy on seafood-so if your friends arent seafood lovers(line mine isnt) its tough to find many choices on the menu.Food was good- service good also nice view of bay
We went to this beautiful restaurant three times. It's a great place! Clever mixologist, amazing location on the docks, awesome service, very good food, fair prices. The chicken tenders are simply delicious. The lobster roll very good. Cocktails are perfect. The staff is incredibly mice....We will keep coming!More
Staff very on top of wearing masks when not seated which is amazing. The food was just ok at best. Table of 8 all lobster dishes a success but shrimp scampi was inedible. Cleared full plates without asking why it wasn’t touched. Drinks were good...and we would have probably had a few more but the waitress was MIA for most of our visit. Sunset is blocked by ferry dock.More
Great view of all the boats going by. The food was very good. The best thing about the whole experience was the wait staff. They were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed! Well done Scott.
We were a party of 7 and for 6 people or more they charge 20% gratuity and 3% extra due to the change in minimum wage. They said they are doing this so they do not have to change the prices of the menu. So...be prepared for a 23% percent tip for parties of 6 or more whether the service is good or not. Fortunately, she was good! : )More
My sister and I went to lunch and had a server Kristina L. Waited 20minutes after ordering drinks and asked her where they were. Instead of apologizing she blamed it on the bartender and disappeared. Almost 10mins later after asking another waiter our food arrived...but no drinks. She came over and said the bartender lost the ticket did we still want the drinks... Yes of course! Finally got them no apology, didn't check up on us once handed us an empty check folder. Had to get another waiter to get her attention to bring us the actual check.More
My husband and I looked at other places for lunch on a Saturday and it all seemed the same burgers and French fries and fried calamari ... so we stumbled upon the island mermaid. The menu didn’t necessarily stand out to us when we looked...at it before sitting down but it seemed decent, and the view just what we wanted- right on the water swoon. We looked over the menu- I was nervous as I ordered a salad and added some fried calamari on top and my husband the grilled catch of the day- surprisingly they came out in huge and fresh portions. We were super impressed! And they were both delicious! We also had delicious frozen margaritas... the girls who served us were top notch and no attitude. And then the owner came over just to see how we and the other tables around us were. We told him how impressed we were and that we d like to write a review- he said that it would be great because he doesn’t pay for them- bonus- this place is legit and delicious. It’s fire island, it’s all going to be a bit pricey, but next time we go, we re definitely coming back to the island mermaid, we felt very well taken care of. Thanks to all the staff!More
