What a great find. The quaint outside tempted us in and it didn’t disappoint. A rustic authentic Greek restaurant in which the food and ambience is lovely. Great food too.

We started with bread, olive oil, Tomato Croquettes and Grilled Halloumi which were all delicious. For mains the grilled salmon was a little overdone and therefore dry, Stuff squid (feta cheese and veg stuffing) which was excellent, and Penne Pasta with octopus which was also...delicious. Desserts were cheesecake and Chocolate Trunk which which we would describe as ok. Service was friendly and attentiveness was excellent, as was the carafe of house red wine. Overall we felt the experience was very good.More
Kapari is a place that we sought out for good food and relief from the bustling busy-ness of Santorini's Capital. And it fulfilled our hopes on both scores. The added bonus was meeting the very special owner. A man who valued conversation over platitudes, listening...with interest to where we came from and what we had seen, explaining each dish as well as the reasons for each piece of decor that made up the bougainvillea shaded courtyard. All chosen with care and reason. The food was fantastic and far from the standard tourist fare that we found almost everywhere else. We would recommend in particular the Raki handmade by the host with infusions of cinnamon and honey (we went back especially for this on our last day.)More
Great seafood restaurant. The price is reasonable and taste amazing. Way better than any other restaurant around the area. Music is playing in the background that smooth the environment. Great place to be.
Very disappointed, it was worrying when you heard no sizzle or buzz from the kitchen. Food seemed reheated and just not great. I ordered the seafood risotto which was passable but my partner ordered the squid, supposedly a Santorini special, it was terrible. Apart from...being tasteless, it was so tough and chewy he left most of it and we went to get something from the bakery on the way home. I would not recommend for anyone looking for a nice meal.More
The staff were very nice and the wine was relatively cheap for Santorini. Any talks about being a traditional Greek taverna seems misplaced as all clients were tourists and there was not a local to be seen . I took the shrimps with the capers,...dill and onions. It was not very nice, far too salty. I got four shrimps and a small desert spoon of vegetables and small desert spoon of rice (which was cold and I had to send back) and two desert spoons of capers.. Obviously banking on the bread to fill you up. Wouldn't go back.More
My wife and I walked by Kapari several times since our hotel was nearby and finally stopped in on our last night in Santorini. Best decision we made in Santorini. The garden is beautifully designed by the owner and while it’s on the Main Street...it’s quiet and peaceful. The food is authentic Greek and probably the best we had in all of the Greek islands we’ve visited. Great menu selection and good value for a nice dinner. Wish we had more time to go back. The owner sat and talked with us for a bit after they closed. Come here for a break away from the business of the caldera view. Best restaurant we’ve been to in 2 months European travel.More
We had visited here many years ago and it was such a memorable meal that I often recommended this place to friends traveling to Santorini. It is a beautiful garden like setting. It is off the main road in Fira with no view. They do...not take reservations. Usually the places without a view have better food in my opinion. Not this time... but many of our old haunts did not live up to prior expectation this trip. Nothing was bad but just not memorable this time.More
I was recommended this restaurant by friends. We ordered only 3 dishes to start with, to suss out the place. We had fried olives, which tasted bland and greesy. We had stuffed mushrooms which were dry and tasteless. The bread was stale, we didn't eat...it. The seafood "speciality" which I was banking would save the day was terrible. Tasted like a dodgy Chinese takeaway. The seafood was not fresh and we left most of it. Waiter was pleasant, he gave us a free shot. I would never visit this place again. We have had some incredible food on this island and I can honestly say this is the only bad meal we have had.More
Visited the specific restaurant many times and i will visit again in the future! Great environment and delicious food!
A really friendly little place in the heart of fira. We were looking for a not-so-crowded restaurant which still would serve good food and we were not disappointed. Granted, there’s no sea view but the food makes more than up for it. We ordered chicken...and veal, which were nicely cooked, but not over cooked. My recommendation: have a drink while observing the sunset on the panoramic road and then head here for proper Greek dinner.More
We came to the taverna and we weren’t really hungry so we decided to order seafood mix platter to share which cost 17,5 euros . We expected for the price a decent portion . It was mentioned in the menu that the dish consists of...octopus , shrimps , mussels , calamari and tomatoes . But it was more tomatoes than everything else . We didn’t find any octopus and calamari , there were only 2 small shrimps and a couple of mussels . Comparing to many different Greek tavernas we just could understand how this place was terrible . This dish was just like an appetizer. We felt like they robbed us . So we highly don’t recommend the place and we won’t come back there again !More
What a pleasant start to our vacation. We had just arrived to the island, so this was the first restaurant we visited. And how lucky we were that we selected this one. The atmosphere was like an old traditional Greek restaurant, and the food tasted...so amazing. Specially the various "keftedes" we tried. The favokeftedes we divine. A must try for everyone who visits. I wish I'll have the chan e to visit Santorini again, and if so, I will definitely revisit this placeMore
Superb restaurant both for food and for the friendliness and kindness of the waitress. Highly recommended.
Amongst the cheap and trashy fast food places in Fira, one could be forgiven for thinking that there's no longer a traditional taverna in town. Fortunately that isn't quite the case since Kapari Taverna is very much alive and kicking, serving a whole host of...very traditional and very lovely dishes. Friendly staff, a charming environment and delicious food, what is there not to like? It's guaranteed a return visit from me!More
