This is an absolutely top notch restaurant. When a Michelin inspector can trouble himself to get off the mainland this restaurant must surely be awarded a michelin star. It is indisputedly that good. The setting is gorgeous in a protected courtyard and if you approach...from the street the entrance is quite dramatic. The food is superb. We ate three courses from the a la carte and every dish was a delight. Just the right amount of delicacy, portion, and composition of each dish to please the eye and tongue. And still the dishes reflected flavour of greek island cooking. The chef is most accomplished. Wine list extensive and most wines are available by the glass, they simply divide the price of the bottle by five and offer a reasonable size pour. Between us we enjoyed four wines and all were in excellent condition. Tasting menu is E95 but we preferred to dine from the a la carte. Three courses for we two oldies was just the right amount of food. Two glasses of excellent fizz, three glasses of wine and the bill was E210. Very fair pricing for the standard, especially in Fira! Save up and go. Memorable.More

Well followed both the Tripadvisor address and the Website address, both lead you to Pyrgos! The restaurant apparently has moved to Fira town!!! No address or any directions to the revised address. Unbelievable when we had booked in advance and also communicated with the Restaurant...beforehand. Even the Signature on there emails have the Pyrgos address. In a word disguised, after working the length of Old town, a taxi driver said it past the Church! Yes we did climb the hill and guess what no Restaurant. Why did we ever bother to follow Tripadvisor. If you have eaten here, please someone share the location.More

The food was good but the service and especially one of the waiters was really ARROGANT and RUDE. Due to coronavirus they are supposed to wear masks, he did not and when we kindly asked him to wear the mask properly the answer was that...since we came from the big city most probably we were more dangerous than them. A simple “sorry you are right madam “ would be enough. Details that can ruin your evening and the whole image of the restaurant.More

The food even though it us different than a usual restaurant it was excellent!! There were many different flavors, service was excellent too, everything was served really fast and each dish got explained to us broadly. The waiter offered to show us around the unique...garden/hotel which used to be a monastery. He taught us many different things about the island and its history. All of the staff was friendly. We paid around 95€ per person and we had the Degustation Menu which consisted of 6 dishes plus the welcoming ones. Finally, the prices was also worth it for the quality and quantity of the food. Overall it was a great experience and we would definitely visited it again!!More

The restaurant has a long tradition and the menu is really good. The plates are delicious and nicely presented as well. The wine list is excellent and I like the fact you can find some gastronomic products (e.g. oil, organic as well) here. The service...was okay, maybe a little bit non enthusiastic, but all in all this is a place that I recommend!More

Selene is an excellent restaurant in Pyrgos. We were staying in Oia so the trip of 25 to 30 minutes seemed a long way to go for a fine meal with all of the options in Oia. But Selene did not disappoint. We were seated...on the balcony just before sunset win enough time to settle in and get a cocktail. The sunset was wonderful entertainment, but the food and service were the MainStage attraction. Our waiter was knowledgeable and was able to help guide our selections and help me choose a great local wine at an great value. This is fine dining, so you some may find the prices high, but the quality, creativity, service and overall experience made this an almost bargain meal. Selene also has a market which they are happy to escort you to, and their cooking classes are varied and considered to be superb.More

Selene left me with wonderful memories years ago. Today, We had outstanding grilled sea bream and good wine (from Peloppenese), and a fun and tasty dessert. From Selene and Santorini, you will rightfully expect more from a Santorini salad. The tomatoes were chilled (always a...bad sign) and the salad generally flavorless. I make a better Greek salad at home. Potatoes with fish were excellent but zucchini so badly oversalted we could not eat it, even after scraping away the salt. The waiter was slow to engage initially and totally unhelpful on wine selection, but after a lot of friendly prodding he came around and did a good job. Selene remains top of the heap in Santorini, but in retrospect I would not consider today’s drive out to the wine bar for lunch a worthwhile use of limited time in Santorini.More
