Incredible views and food to match!

We had lunch here after the hike from Fira to Oia and we were not disappointed! The staff were very welcoming and helped recommend some dishes to us - we went for the meze option selecting five dishes: The Variety of Spreads, Santorini salad, Grilled Octopus, Smoked Cheese Saganaki and the Spetzofai. The grilled octopus was the best we've ever had and the Smoked cheese saganki was also immense. The view is also incredible as the balcony lets you see both sides of the island which was the only place we experienced this and meant you could see Santorini's tourist side and the more traditional part of the island. The complimentary dessert wine they brought was amazing, so much so that we asked if we could take some away with us which they did for us and at a really cheap price. We would recommend Melitini's to anyone!

Fantastic food!

Was really happy to stumble across Melitini whilst on a solo evening out in Oia as had read the amazing reviews beforehand and loved the idea of mezze whilst watching the sunset. Arrived around 6.30 and was informed the terrace was fully booked so instead was offered a seat in the small outdoor terrace. The food was just as amazing as I’d expected! Ordered meatballs and a side dish of roasted potatoes with a warm tomato sauce and feta cheese, delicious! Together with a small (250ml) carafe of wine and a soft drink, the bill was around €20-€25 so excellent value for such a lovely meal. The only reason for giving a 4* and not 5* review is because two couples who arrived after me (also without a reservation) were allowed to sit on the upstairs terrace provided the tables were vacated by 8.30! This did spoil the overall experience for me a little! Would still recommend though purely for the excellent food.

Lovely place to eat

We ate here two nights during our 11 night stay in Oia. Booking in advance is recommended during peak season and you can see why. Lovely rooftop setting if you're lucky enough to get seating there. It delivers exactly what it says, Greek tapas. There were three of us and on the first night we ordered six dishes which in hindsight was a bit much but everything was fresh and delicious. It comes to your table in no particular order as they bring each dish when it's ready. The fresh Cod with potato puree was very soft and tasty. Their meatballs and sausages were also full of flavor. They Octopus was a little pricey at 15 euro for a small piece but it was very soft and succulent. The salads were fresh and nicely seasoned. All in all we had a very pleasant experience here and the service was very good and friendly.

Loved the tapas options - if you are vegetarian then please make it known to the staff as they will cater some of the dishes for you. For eg. some of the vegetarian dishes may be cooked with beef sausages so ask them in advance if any of the dishes contain any meat/animal fat/alcohol to suit your dietary requirements. Staff are very very friendly and very helpful. They make the experience just that one step better. Parking can be difficult depending how you enter Oia so you may have to park a distance away and walk up to the restaurant (the road is one way)

We got into Oia beginning of July The restaurant has been recommended by the hotel and actually it was one of the first ones opened up after two months lockdown. We went the first night arriving and actually we enjoyed the food, The service, the company of the owner so much that we went almost every night in our week stay. I love the food because it’s cooked with love and you can taste it. We got a lot of explanation about cooking Greek food, tried almost everything from the menu and must say this is one of the best experience I ever made in any restaurant worldwide. It’s not the moussaka and the gyros which is not typical Creek anyway this is home-made delicious food with fresh Vegetable from the neighbours garden, good Greek incrediance. We got extremely sploit! For the hygiene circumstances of the place.... Thank you very much for keeping everything so clean providing disinfection in many places wearing the masks every time Just taking care of the guest so well We loved everything there and if we come back to Oia this is our first choice Good luck and best wishes to all of you !!! We came her due to recommendations of Trip Advisor ! Remember about booking roof - view table. Food was good ! In a really good prices. Dinner for 2 with 0,5 l of white wine cost 52€. Almost ideal Ntakos salad ! Traditional Greek food !

Recommended by the Aspaki Hotel, we were really impressed. Exactly as stated by many others before us: Tapas, the grilled octopus and also the (only) wine available (house wine 14€/liter. The service was great and the little wind on the roof top could be ignored due to the terrace heaters! Recommended going there.

Simply the best food in Oia; our hotel recommended this place and we’ve currently visited three times. Everything is absolutely outstanding, particularly the souvlaki and hot pot with sausages/cheese. Half the price of most other places, sunset views, great staff… we cannot recommend Melitini highly enough.

We had the Santorinian salad which was fantastic, the beef with traditional pasta, the variety of vegetable fritters, the Sfouggato omelette and the grilled vegetables. All dishes tasted great! It was a lot for two people but we enjoyed every bite! We had some of the white house wine and a bottle of water. We only paid 46 euros which is very cheap especially for Santorini. Also the staff was very friendly! The view was lovely too. I definitely recommend this place.

Best meal in Greece

The best meal I’ve eaten in a long time. My partner and I have been in Greece for nearly two weeks (Mykonos, Naxos and Santorini) and this was by far the most outstanding meal in terms of quality, service, quantity and value. We had the shrimp saganaki, spicy sausage dish, pork neck and Santorini salad. All of them were delicious, especially the pork neck which neither of us had eaten before but were pleasantly surprised by how yummy it was. We also had 0.5l of the house red which was also very tasty and excellent value. The whole bill came to around £50 which both of us thought was incredible (especially given the steep prices in Santorini and the prices we’re used to in London). If I could give Melitini 11/10 I would! Will be back. Thank you for a delicious meal!!!

This little place is a gem. I went with my sister and mum after seeing some good reviews. We were sat in the main restaurant downstairs. It’s more of a cafe vibe down there so was unsure at first as didn’t necessarily feel the ambiance that I’d hoped for. This being said, the food was excellent and the staff very accommodating. We were able to go upstairs to the covered roof terrace for a drink after our meal, there were no spaces to eat up there so I’d recommend booking and requesting a table there. (Weather permitting) Onto the food. All dishes were delicious, our favourite must try being the dips and bread, prawn nagasaki , fried cheese, zucchini fritters and the lamb shank. This was one of our favourite restaurants in Santorini and wherever you’re seated (upstairs or down) I totally recommend going!

The menu had a wide variety of tapas for very reasonable prices, which was surprising since it also came with a gorgeous rooftop view of the water and sunset. We had 4 dishes between the 2 of us and it was more than enough, but I wish we could have gotten more! We had the anchovies, spetzofai, fried zucchinis, and pork leg. This was also the first place we tried Raki (liquor) and it was very tasty -- much more enjoyable than my first taste of Ouzo. 😬

It was just ok. Too many salty ingredients in Greek salad. Beef stifado served just warm in a cold casserole dish with disintegrated small onions. Employee apologised when voiced concerns. Empty plates left on table for 20 minutes after we'd finished. No selection of wine. House wine tastes cheap. Won't be going again. Sticking to the small side alley restaurants from now on which are more traditional Maybe it was just what we ordered because other people seem to like it.

We've been here in Oia several days and this is the only bad restaurant experience we've had. The servers are extremely busy so it's difficult to get their attention. It took very long to get a drink, which ended up being ordered when we ordered the food. This is a tapas place and I asked if they'd be sure to spread out the dishes, but they came nearly all at once, completely taking away from the tapas experience. As for the food, underwhelming. The octopus was dry and the pork chop was so oversmoked and dry it was inedible. The saving grace was the smoked chicken which was amazing.

We really enjoyed our meal her and thought it was worth every penny. We ate inside just Infront of the serving counter which was entertaining and made a nice change to another sunset. We had the spezofai sausage stew, homemade pasta with chicken and grilled octopus. All were delicious. Raki and honey to finish, plus a complimentary local fortified wine sent us happily into the night.
