We went here on a recommendation from our hotel concierge and were NOT disappointed. It is not in the main strip of OIA but a little off the beaten path. The vibes are immaculate and the restaurant is really neat. This was some of the best food we have had so far on our trip - I got the steak and my husband got the chicken, we split (2) vegetables sides and that was plenty of food for us 2. The pricing was extremely reasonable for the quality of food as everything was extremely fresh.
The highlight by far was the dessert - I had THE BEST dessert I have ever had in my life here. A grilled pineapple bowl with coconut sherbet and granola/toasted almond… tasted like nothing I have ever had before with a hint of mint. If you go you MUST try this!!
The cool thing about this restaurant is like the name states, it is based off of “homosapiens” such that everything is raw our grilled with fire, I think that’s what makes it so unique and gives it that true authentic feel.
Highly recommend if you are staying in OIA!!

A little bit difficult to find but excellent experience and warm and friendly people. Everything about the meal from start to desert was perfect for us. Unfortunately I was too busy enjoying the food to take pictures. I had the tuna steak seared and my wife had Prawns, Califlower and string bean sides as suggested,the desserts were also amazing. Fun concepts here and very reasonable prices. Best food per value we had. I should’ve gone back for the other side of the menu. Higjy recommended from someone who used to be in the business. Make sure to stir the amazing Ponzu type seared tuna sauce before pouring it on.

We went as we fancied a burger for dinner.
I had a black Angus burger cooked to my liking,caramelised onions with melted cheese in a bun all of which were delicious served with delicious fries.
Wine very smooth with a hint of fruitiness.
What can I say only will certainly be back.

Sapiens was simply sublime. The service began with an endearing introduction to the chef’s ethos and continued with great attentiveness. Our party had a few allergies and dietary restrictions, but the chef made all possible accommodations and was extremely conscientious of the allergies. The chef visited our table twice and even crafted a vegan dessert on the spot! Most notably, the flavors and preparation were impeccable. Clearly, herbs were picked fresh and curated to create a nuanced palate. Importantly, our two meat dishes, lamb and beef, were cooked to the perfect texture. This was one of our most notable dining experiences - go to Sapiens!!!

A must dine at restaurant in Santorini. The restaurant's indoor/outdoor dining area provides a great setting for an exceptional meal. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. We are used to fine dining in Rome and Chicago (where we live)., and Sapiens far exceeded our expectations. The drinks were very good and well prepared. We asked for recommendations based on our preferences and they were spot on! We ordered 9 dishes to share and each was an exquisite blend of flavors and fine local products (sea bream, lamb, etc.). While this restaurant does not feature a sunset view, the food, service, ambiance, and overall experience far exceeds a sunset.

We stumbled across this restaurant during our last night in Oia and we are so glad we did! It was easily the best meal we’ve had in Greece (by a long way!). The food was incredibly tasty, there were new and exciting flavours we’d never had before and I would most definitely call this fine dining. It is particularly special for Santorini as it such a refreshing change from the standard Italian and seafood restaurants. The waiters were so attentive and clearly passionate about the food they were serving and the ambience was sensational. We’ll be back without a doubt!!! Would highly highly recommend to anyone who wants quality food and a gorgeous evening all round.

Cindy was the star of the night! From the attentiveness and making sure we never went a moment waiting to the incredible food, it was a dinner to remember. We started with the bread/dip and the yellowtail, for entrees we had the lamb and the chicken (both cooked to perfection) with a side of cauliflower in curry sauce that my husband couldn’t get enough of! Cindy recommended the salted caramel brownie with ice cream for dessert and it was AMAZING. She also brought shots of Mastika afterwards which was the perfect ending to a perfect dinner. Thank you Cindy for an unforgettable dinner!

It won’t take long before this restaurant is top 5 in Santorini. This was by far the best meal we had in Santorini. We sampled the pork steak, calamari, tartare, and pork lollypop. None of them disappointed. If I found this restaurant sooner on our trip, I am sure we would have eaten there multiple times. The location has no views, but the food makes up for it. The waiter was very patient with us and explained all the dishes and gave excellent recommendations. I honestly don’t know which dish to recommend because they were all so good. I can tell you that I wasn’t sharing my pork steak and my daughter would have cut me with her knife if I tried to take a bite of her meal. 😀 My only regret was getting Gelato around the corner instead of trying the salted caramel brownie dessert. Sapiens is a must try.

Sapiens Restaurant in Oía was recommended by our hotel. It’s a little off the main foot traffic street on a quiet side street.
We can’t say enough about how fantastic the food was. We are global travellers, and this is one of the best meals we’ve ever had.
Katerina was such a joy. She was great to chat with, took wonderful care of us and was knowledgeable and proud of the menu options. The other staff members were also very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu.
My husband and I had two starters - the Fennel with sea bass carpaccio, and the Salmon sashimi. The blend of flavours for both starters was amazing!
For our main course we both had the Leg of lamb. Cooked slowly to a tender perfection with a flavourful gravy. All off the bone.
The Cauliflower side dish was beyond belief yummy. The Grilled red peppers were excellent.
We topped off our meal with a complimentary Chocolate brownie with ice cream. A pure delight.
If you want an amazing meal and outstanding service go to Sapiens in Oía. I am confident you will rave about it too. We recommended it to another couple at our hotel.
As we were leaving Katerina gave us both a hug. A reflection of a very memorable evening.

It was a wonderful stroke of luck to have ended up at this restaurant. Our arrival into Santorini was delayed, so by the time we got to Oia, almost everything with a view of the Caldera was closed. We thought we'll try our luck here, and ended up having the best first meal on a holiday we've ever had.
The menu is very conceptual and interesting - they focus on raw or coal-fire grilled items. It's Greek food with a twist, and it was amazing! There is a clear focus on Greek ingredients, rather than classic Greek dishes (they don't do Souvlaki, mezedes, etc. here). Perfectly cooked calamari with a hint of the grill flavour, but not overpowered. Excellent tuna with a lovely sauce. Side dishes that focus on freshly prepared vegetables with a high-end finish.
The service was excellent. Everyone was lovely, from the chap who invited us in to have look, to Michael, Katerina, and George. My compliments to the chef and the team, and I hope this restaurant does well in the future.
It may not have the views, but the location is very convenient, the decor is lovely, and it's a very cosy atmosphere. Can't recommend this place enough.

We had a really incredible dinner at Sapiens on our recent trip to Santorini. We often visited it’s sister restaurant Fino which is also awesome. Don’t let the location (away from the Caldera view) put you off as the food and drinks are worth it. The menu is unique with a raw and grilled concept.

"Wow, what an incredible dining experience! The food was exceptional, but the real star of the show was our waitress, Cindy . She went above and beyond to ensure our evening was special.
From the moment we walked in,
Thanos and Cindy greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel welcome. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and made excellent recommendations.
The service was top-notch, with her checking in just the right amount to ensure we had everything we needed without feeling rushed. Her kindness, efficiency, and attention to detail made our night truly unforgettable.
The restaurant's atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with a great selection of music and a beautifully designed space. But it was Cindy who truly made our experience shine offering us a divine desert.

It was an excellent experience. The staff was friendly all the time. The starters were fresh and great, especially the wagyu Tatar and baby lettuce salad will be one of the best memories from our entire holiday. The main courses were generous and the different kinds of herbs used in the dishes had a special depth and added to the great character of the restaurant. But don’t forget about the brownie tho it is worth keeping a little space in your stomach for.

Sapiens was absolutely amazing. From the food to the hospitality completely a 5 star experience. Katarina and Cindy were extraordinary. Giorgos simply set the standard for an evening experience. This is my favorite place in all of Oia! Do not miss this experience. We enjoyed the oysters, salmon tar tar and yellow tail followed by the lamb and wild prawns. Do not miss the cauliflower absolutely delicious.

We had the salmon, salmon roe sashimi, pork belly, zucchini with herbs and yogurt, green beans and tuna collar. Everything was absolutely delicious. We love to eat whole, healthy foods so this restaurant is currently at the top of our favorites list. Also, the staff was so friendly, sweet, attentive and helpful. Truly a great experience. We are in Santorini for three more days and I would happily eat here every night! :)
