Unfortunately this place didn't live up to the expectation, you'e better off standing in front for free than pay for the view and the food. We had a crab and salmon salad, both of which we expected to be hot and large for the price....What we got for our money (80 euro with 1 drink each) was cold slithers of smoked salmon on a large bed of leave and another large bed of leaves and a small amount of crab flakes. We didn't stay long and decided to go for another dinner at the lovely Thalami restaurant. The waitress was lovely and asked if the food was ok as we left all the leaves but we didn't complain as just wanted to leave. I'd honestly save your money.More

We were happy to spend the minimum amount of €100 per couple to secure a table with a view of the sunset. What we weren't prepared for is how awful the food would be. Both of us decided to have the crab salad and were...disappointed when the €27 dish arrived and mainly consisted of soggy lettuce leaves due to the salad dripping in dressing. The salad we have grown to expect on Santorini were very much missing and none of the abundance of fresh and delicious salad items where present. However nothing could prepare me for the disappointment that was my dessert ... deconstructed cheesecake... this is actually a waffle ice cream cone stuffed with some soft cheese and out of the tin cherry fruit. Underwhelming and over sold. I think the chef should be embarrassed. I would have rather had just ice-cream in a cone. Alot of the items we would have gone for such as the cod and beef fillet were off the menu too ... this restaurant is only still trading due to the view as the food is dire. Avoid avoid avoid. Very expensive horrible food. Happy to pay those prices but I expect a decent quality food for thag . McDonald's would have been a tastier option.More

Basically this restaurant is all about the view and nothing else,it is a great place to see the sunset and that is why you are paying, the food is good, I wouldn't say it's outstanding because you can get the same quality in other restaurants...for half the price. The portions are small and taken in consideration that this is not a fine dining restaurant, it is quite annoying. You are not allowed to smoke at the table only at the top of the stairs which take you to the upper part of the terrace, this should be pointed out in their description or at least mentioned when you make the reservation. It's good that you are not allowed to smoke because it might disturb the non-smokers, but the waiters did nothing when a group who pretended that they are interested in a table started taking pictures during the sunset and sit on the edge of the terrace right in front of another couple, and after the sunset they just left. I'm pretty sure they didn't pay at least 50 euros each for a front row view of some stranger's buttock, but thank god that the smoke did not obstruct such a magnificent view. And, since we are talking about an expensive restaurant you would expect a nice toilet, but no, it is a small dark place with two cabins one for men and one for women, of course the wall doesn't go up to the ceiling so you may enjoy the serene sound of each others farts. The extras you may enjoy for the ridiculous prices of this place are, a nice window in the men's cabin so bystanders may have a view of your face while you are doing your business, this place is about the views after all, and in the women cabin you can enjoy a very nice continuous stream of water since the toilet flush system was pulled out of the wall.More

We experienced Bad quality food, service with little motivation. Ordered a Greek salad with no onions when it was served waitress even said “here your salad with no onions... but after removing two tomato’s there were plenty of onions in the salad. My wife ordered...chicken breast with baby potatoes and it had really old, maybe warmed up potatoes and the chicken breast felt warmed up as well. Interestingly we got the bill presented even before the food was brought. Very expensive place for provided quality, so you really just pay for the outstanding location to have stunning views over Santorini and the volcano.More

I went twice with my two teenage children, for lunch and for dinner. The food is undoubtedly excellent and on both occasions I was most impressed with the service: despite being frantic as the place is very well known, each waiter is smiling, calm and...helpful. Jannis, the Manager, is totally zen and always seems to be able to find the best table for you. The location (hence its name) and ‘sunsets’ are the perfect frame for this lovely authentic restaurant! Thank you Sunset!More

The only good thing in this place is the view. Don’t go to eat. The deconstructed mousaka was clearly made from leftover meal of someone else’s dish. Unless you are into recycling food, we suggest that you go elsewhere. While there were many other issues...(bad service, ridiculous price), the main reason for not setting foot in this place is the horrible (literally), HORRIBLE food quality.More

My husband and I traveled to Santorini for our honeymoon and came here on the recommendation of a friend who had done the same a few months earlier. I made a reservation on their website for a prime rooftop table and received a prompt email...confirmation; it is clearly stated that you need to order a bottle of (any) wine for dinner reservations during sunset hours. The night started off rocky when we couldn't find the restaurant at first; we got mixed directions from a few different people and ended up walking in circles but never to the restaurant. We had all but given up when we decided to ask one more person and give it one more chance, despite it being 30 minutes past our reservation time. We finally made it and were totally expecting to be turned away due to our tardiness. After the manager asked my name, he realized he had given my table to another couple already there. It turns out one of them had the same last name as me and he just assumed it was us. However, when he found out my full name (she had a different first name) he realized they didn't have a reservation like they thought, but I did. To my complete surprise, and without any prompting, he asked the couple to move to a different table so we could enjoy our front row unspoiled view. I was completely shocked and a little embarrassed at first, but then I was just completely blown away by the hospitality and kindness. No rooftop view is bad, but it was incredibly generous of them to give me the table I reserved despite being late. The food and service was wonderful; the servers even come around to take your photo if you'd like. I eat mostly vegetarian so I really enjoyed the salad and mushroom risotto; my husband loved the salmon sliders and pork tenderloin which we paired with a refreshing rose. Overall, it was a wonderful experience - great food, amazing service, and unforgettable view.More

Loved sitting here most evenings enjoying the sunset. Book a space early as it could get a bit crowds once it’s close to sunset
