The food was so good that we came here for dinner twice. Don't let the unassuming presentation fool you. We had steamed mussels, grilled red snapper, grilled octopus, fried squid, grilled lobster and a couple of other starters. We like that every dish was very...lightly seasoned so you could taste how fresh the seafood was. The staff was friendly and we didn't need to wait long for food. Price was very reasonable for the quality and you could also get the best view of the sunset hereMore

We’d decided to visit Ammoudi as part of our stay in Oia, and walked down early evening for dinner. The steps were much easier down than up - but well worth the trek! Having found some of the other restaurants forceful in trying to get...our business, we settled on Taverna Katina, which made a ‘reserved’ table available for us, also supplying a wedge of wood to sort the wobbly table seated right on the edge of the port. Wonderful ambiance, illuminated water by the lights and good service. We ordered the crayfish spaghetti - a huge plate, easily shared between the three of us, after shared appetisers first. No room for dessert, though received the obligatory little tasting dessert each anyway. Very tasty dinner, you should try it too.More

We tried Fried squid, marinated anchovies, boiled vegetables and fish rows salad. They are so good that you csn taste the sea. But the grilled octopus was a let down. It is big but way over saled. Catch of the day fish was too expensive...in my opinion. But rest of the dishes were excellent 👌More

We had two times great lunch and dinner at that place at beach front. Cooking is authentic. We had very good sea foods. Beautiful spot and delicious food in a romantic place , what else to ask ?

Sat down eventually after flagging a waiter down. Waited ages for a bottle of water in midday heat. Woman who worked there started fishing with line with sharp hooks and bread attached to it about 1 metre from our table. She was also smoking. She...threw line at the water but the wind picked it up and hooks and line lodged under my chair, almost impaling me with hooks. She wasn't apologetic, pretty rude, and she carried on. Nobody brought us a menu or took our order. So we got up and walked out. Went to Sunset Taverna where we had amazing shrimp right next to the water with great service. I'm not saying you couldn't have a good meal here if you were lucky enough to get a good waiter and avoid the nasty fishing woman, but I wouldn't risk in. The other restaurants are busier for a reason.More

My wife and I were very happy with our dinner here. Our hotel made our reservation for us a month earlier and we got two seats by the water before sunset. We shared an octopus starter, Santorini salad and red snapper. Everything was delicious. The...seafood was fresh and grilled simply. Our waiter, a guy who looked a little like Anthony Bourdain, was very good. He recommended a nice bottle of wine and helped us call our taxi. No complaints from us.More

It’s a tourist trap reataurant! We arrived at the restaurant at 18h and we asked if was possible to sit down to watch the sunset, they said it was all right. We waiter came and put a bottle of water on the table and asked...what we wanted to order, we ordered a beer and he said that we had to order something to eat. We said we would like to watch the sunset while we are having lunch. So, he came with a beer and asked if we already choose something to eat and we said we will eat after. In 10 minutes at the restaurant the waitwr came 3 times asking what we wanted to order for dinner and at the last time we got so angry. We would like to have dinner there, but after this attitude we said we was disapointed with the service and we are going to leave. They was very rude with us and they said we had to order something at that moment, so we left. And the worst part was that the beer was warm.More

After negotiating the steps down from Oia to Amoudi Bay my mother and I were looking forward to tucking into some local fish whilst enjoying the view. On arrival things began well, we were seated by the waters edge, given menus & offered bottled water...almost immediately which was poured for us. Sadly that’s where the hospitality stopped. We ordered drinks, which took around 15 minutes to arrive as the waiter ‘forgot’ about them. We then ordered a sea bass & a portion of chips to share. It was lunchtime and we arrived just after midday, the restaurant was maybe half full at this time. Slowly the tables filled up and we began to notice that people who had arrived after us already had been served their meals. My mother politely asked a waiter where our food was as we had been waiting around 40 minutes by this point. The waiter did not offer an apology only that ‘sea bass takes a long time to cook’ and then disappeared. Around another 10 minutes passed and our food finally arrived. We asked for some ketchup for our chips and it never came. - By this point we half expected this would be the case! The restaurant was nearly full by this time and the waiters were doting on tables with clearly deeper pockets than ours. Making conversation and being very attentive. A stark contrast to the service we had received. As a waiter came to take our empty plate we asked for the bill, paid our €71 and made a swift exit! We were both very disappointed with our experience and felt very sad having heard such lovely things about Amoudi Bay. The only good comment I can make on the whole experience was that the food was delicious & the view is lovely. However that does not make up for the terrible service that we received. Sadly due to the location this restaurant will always be busy, but be aware you may not be treated as you would expect!More

One of the most beautifull place to eat and see sunset. Great people works there, and lovely granny which is a boss definitely 😁 she gave us a blanket when the weather changed, and be windy. Also for a gift we got small oil of...olives. Realy nice and tasty fish for main, but appetizers should be more seasoned.More

Worst meal in Greece and incredibly disappointing overall experience. Our hotel recommended this place as a good sunset view & fresh seafood and made us a reservation for 7pm for dinner. Our hotel is in Oia so we walked down to Amoudi Bay which is...quite the steep trek with a lot of donkey droppings to navigate around. We arrived and got seated right on the water but because of the intense wind it was cold and blowing the table cloth everywhere. As soon as we ordered drinks the wind tipped our water bottle into our beers and spilled our drinks all over our table, the waiter immediately came and was upset saying we spilled our drinks over and he had to clean it up (even though the table next to us we saw the wind fling their entire plate into the ocean!!). After the drink incident the waiter ignored us, didn’t offer us another drink to order or refill our water after the spill. The sunset was not great viewing because of all the boats and cars right in front of it you could see mostly people and cars/boats blocking the sunset which was cold and windy anyways. It’s seemed like a lot of people came from boats that dropped them off just for dinner then waited around blocking the view. Your meal you can only order 1 fish to share between your party, so hopefully you agree on what you want & then pay extra for any type of sides. Service was so terrible we never saw our waiter again until after an hour and a half our food never arrived so we had to ask for our bread and sea bass which arrived cold as if it had been sitting around. Finally after eating a poor meal (most of which we gave to a starving stray cat) we were just ready to be done and leave. Had to flag down the waiter again for our check (90euros..), which he very rudely mocked & waved at us for finally getting his attention after 20 minutes. The steep trek back up to Oia was another 20mins in the dark and covered in donkey droppings. Thank god wasn’t wearing heels. Overall absolutely would not recommend, big waste of a Oia sunset and money.More

Hi I was there in June 2019 and Katina was there overseeing the kitchen. All the staff is so accommodating I am sure your request and reservation will be honored. I would call a day or two in advance. Enjoy your dinner!

If it's lunch - not necessary. For dinner, might be good to make a reservation.
