We know Candouni over the years and we have beautiful memory. Back then, it was a charming place with romantic ambience and excellent food. However, meanwhile, sadly, charm is gone. Now? only money money money. On our bill, 7 (or 8?) euros was charged for...bread, which we didn't order and we didn't even see it on our table. So we requested the waiter(cum manager) to correct the mistake on the bill. He didn't seem surprised. He seemed rather offended as if we were wasting his time. He yelled out "you are spending $$$ for staying in Oia, and you are arguing for few euros?" Speechless.More

Over multiple trips we have dined at Candouni repeatedly. This is an extremely special place: one that is more family home than restaurant. The food is fantastic and cooked by Mom. The staff is perfectly attentive. This is one of the few places that have...live music and the only one that is authentic Greek that we have found. It was hard to say bye on our last dinner. Thank you for allowing us into your home! Jayme & JamesMore

We will never forget our perfect meal in the coziest spot off of the Oia shopping district. of Santorini. Everything was so tasty, huge portions and such a wonderful atmosphere. The wine, the traditional greek salad and bread were plentiful (but save room for your meal)....Thank you for the warmest hospitality, most enjoyable dining experience and for making our time in (Oia) Santorini most memorable.More

Went twice last week and they were the twi best meals we had on our Oia trip. Excellent food in an atmospheric old house, Candouni gave a rare authentic feel in the sometimes hyper-modern Oia. Spiros and his staff were incredibly friendly, endlessly accommodating and...generous to a fault A warm atmosphere with fine food and generous portions at mid-range prices.More

The restaurant was so quaint and charming. The food was delicious and service was great! We had a wonderful dinner. The place is a little hidden off the beaten path. The owner and “Elvis” provided a wonderful experience. One of my faves in Greece!

After reading some reviews, I´ve invited my wife to dine at the Coudini. The first impressions were fine but going to the toilet she became concerned about cleaness of the kitchen. At the entrance of the toilet she could see many boxes laying on the...floor. The food was ok but at the moment of paying the waiter did not accept my international card demanding that the payment be made in cash because the machine was not accepting my card, I had to run to an ATM machine to get the money. Back at the restaurant I complained to the manager, he then said it was a mistake of the waiter who should have used another machine that accepted international cards.More

Wow! Having spent 11 nights on the Island our meal at Candouni was easily the best! In our experience it pays to sacrifice the caldera view to get a better quality meal. We sat in the pretty and romantic garden of Candouni and were served...by wonderful staff who knew their menu inside out and were clearly passionate about their food. Everything is home cooked "like our family would eat it" according to the waiter. The house special lamb was delicious and the dish of the day beef orzo was divine. Great food, great atmosphere, great service! Not to miss if you are visiting Oia .....More

The food at Candouni was nothing other than excellent, which was the same for the location, the staff and the overall atmosphere here. We really enjoyed our evening meal. It is slightly off the beaten track, but is a must in my opinion if you...are visiting Oia. The live music, and the setting gives an authentic feel to the restaurant. We stayed in Oia for a week, and ate out each night, and this was my favourite meal during our stay!More

We have been to Santorini four times and the one restaurant that we always want to go to is Candouni. The ambience with lattice covered vines is the perfect setting to enjoy wonderful food and the feel of Greece. Meanwhile, the best part of evening...at Candouni is the service and the energy of the owner, Spiros. He prides himself on creating a home away from home feel and delivering great good based on recipes passed down through generations. It’s a popular place so make sure to make reservations. You will love it!More

Locely restaurant away from the main busy street of Oia. You can eat inbthe charming candlelit courtyard or in the lovely traditional interior the food was delicious and the musians played all evening. The staff were lovely and attentive.

Nice location. Food was average and therefore on the expensive side. Be aware of the wine, is much to expensive for this kind of restauarant. We paid 60 euro’s for 4 glasses of housewine. For this amount of money I would expect the wine to...be excellent.More

We managed to eat here the second night of our stay in Oia. The first night we were turned away as we didn’t have a reservation. Second night we still didn’t, but we were told we could have a table in an hour’s time. There...was a guitarist/ bouzouki duo playing the most beautiful Greek folk music and we felt so drawn to them that we agreed to come back in an hour. So glad we did! Honestly, the waiting staff were pretty understaffed and service was really slow, but they were friendly and chatty, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful so it was worth it. These musicians genuinely made our whole experience so if you want to go here, go on a Monday or Tuesday as those are the only nights they play!More

Great experience. The food and house wine were amazing. It’s a hidden gem because it doesn’t have the sunset view so many desire but if you’ve seen that already, go here for a terrific meal.
