Loved this place. Live Greek music but not the tacky kind. Just very classy. The owner greeted & treated us like old friends. Food was amazing. If you want cheap food then go elsewhere but they looked after us so well. The young lad worked...so hard and had a very quick-witted nature (we asked for the dessert menu and he told us it was him, before listing all the possibilities). The owner sees you as guests and I’m guessing from some of the very low number of poor reviews, he just didn’t click with them. Visit here, relax and have a laugh. The owner sat and chatted with the guests and brought us dessert wine on the house. Oh and we have to mention the two lovable daft “house” dogs!More

We thought our food was very good, except for the bread, which was incredibly stale. We asked for the 1 euro bread, and got the 3.50 per person bread. We asked for sparkling water, got one bottle, and were charged 3.50 euros per person! When...we asked about it, the manager acted offended and said we had asked for the more expensive bread. We did enjoy the music, but we felt a bit cheated.More

One of our favorite dinners in Greece! The food was perfection, the service was amazing/fun, the live music (just on certain nights) was beautiful and the ambience was pure European romance <3

Hard to fathom the good reviews. The atmosphere and setting seem okay, but this place can’t do the basics and uses odd tactics in apparent attempt to charge even more than the already high (even for Santorini) prices. Tiri sagonaki (fried cheese) was served cold...and almost raw - it should have been melty and delicious. Other food indifferent or unpleasant. We love Greek food and, in spite of being veggie, always have a great range of option and clean our plates but we couldn't here. The choices here were minimal; food came in the wrong order and slowly. The waiting were kind but the owner has an oddly defensive and aggressive manner. There seem to be too few staff and not enough thought in the food despite the owner's claims of excellence. Best to avoid.More

We wanted something relaxed and traditional on our last night in Santorini, and our hotel recommended Candouni. We had a delightful evening in the front garden, sipping ouzo and taking in the music played by the locals. The manager was wonderfully solicitous and his team...were very kind. Fish was delicious as were the appetizers. A good way to end our trip!More

I have never been treated that bad in a restaurant! The owner was the rudest and most impatient waiter I have ever experienced - and I have lived in Vienna, where the unfriendliness of the waiters is even described in the Lonley Planat. After asking...several times for the wine list and not getting it, we ordered a glass each of local red and white wine. The red wine was bottled from a tetrapack! - my friend had a clear view of the bar. All in all, the service was very bad - cutlery was thrown on the table, other people were moved against their wishes and you were ignored most of the time. When the bill came at the end, we were charged for the bread basket that the owner brought us at the beginning, even though we didn't order an appetiser. The white wine cost 10€ and the tetrapack red wine 13€. As the bill was in Greek, I asked what the 23€ was. And when I asked why a glass of wine was so expensive, he said it was on the wine list! I then remarked that we never got it. So he asked where we were from - me, from Austria. He - Santorini is like Vienna, it's expensive here! Apart from the fact that in Vienna a glass of wine costs about 4€, we were in a sunset bar the night before where the local red wine cost 8€! To top it off, the bill said service not included, which we ignored after an evening of rudeness and insolence.More

This place is a must, and make a reservation in advance. Live Greek music greets you with friendly staff and a great location. I had the house favorite lamb, it was simply amazing!

AVOID!!!! In terms of food, the bread was very mediocre, some of them are even rock hard and cold. But that’s not the worst part. I ordered a grilled fish, which were served cold and too salty to eat. My bf ordered a pork dish,...but there were only four small pieces of meat on the dish, which seemed very unreasonable when we checked the price. What was more irritating was their service. The boss and the other waiter were pretty much ignoring us all way through. When we ordered food, the boss took my bf’s menu out of sudden without any notice or apologies. The other waiter ignored our request for water, food, and even the bill. After all these, when we paid the bill, we waited for at least ten minutes at the counter for the boss to check the bill. And he ironically talked to us very nicely once!! For tips!!!!! (RIDICULOUS) The only highlight of the night was the waitress, who was actually quite nice and friendly. Also the price! It has been so far the most expensive meal I had in Greece(I have been here for a week) and no other restaurant even asked for any tipsMore

We loved Candouni. The service was great, the owner was hilarious and friendly, and the food was amazing. Its a family run restaurant and you can feel it. Definitely go here and definitely make a reservation and definitely get the lamb.

à l'instantNOUVEAU to be avoided, more than an hour of waiting for the dishes ... service is not included and you have to leave a tip ..(they insist).. in short, super disappointed, it doesnt deserve a good note
