Difficult to find but so worth the effort. Prices are reasonable, food is absolutely delicious, sunset views the best in Oia looking towards Sikinos island. They do not rush you, service is excellent and friendly. You have to book, lots of disappointed customers turning up without a booking and being told there was no table. Google maps is wrong, walk all the way to the second windmill and turn left, left again and keep taking the stairs down.

We found this place by chance on a long walk through the village, but it was so worth it. The view of the sunset from here is amazing. Kevin was our waiter who was so friendly & really professional, both he & Andrew made everything feel as if nothing was not too much trouble. Even the owner came over to introduce himself, such a nice touch. The food was delicious, good size portions & well presented. We had shrimp & grilled calamari to start & Lamb & pork for mains, we even had dessert as they sounded too good! Believe me they were so good. Everything was reasonably priced too! All in all a wonderful evening, we will definitely return.

We stumbled across this restaurant on a Pinterest article and it was the perfect find! The restaurant is a little off the beaten track but this meant it was quiet and romantic and every table has a great view of the santorini sunset! The food was delicious - we had the sea bass and the lamb shank. The waiters were attentive and we sat there for over 3 hours undisturbed. Fantastic find if you want to watch the sunset away from the hustle and bustle and have some amazing food alongside it.

This restaurant was on our concierge's list of restaurants with stunning sunset views in Oía. We got to the restaurant just before sunset, they had our reservation and the waiter was nice enough to take excellent sunset photos... That was everything positive to happen because the rest was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My wife is pregnant and hungry, no surprise. Appetizer salad took a bit to come but it was OK (honestly just ok, it had 4 ingredients and seemed a bit repetitive). Then we waited two hours for her pasta dish and my grilled seabass to come. In that time, no one could figure out why it was taking so long. Finally, our waiter offered the explanation that someone ordered the same two dishes via room service and there was a mixup caused by the second waiter who took our food to a room. So we continued to waited and still nothing. Another employee frantically speaking in Greek on the walkie-talkie with the kitchen. Finally, the second waiter comes over and tells us that he did not mix up the order but that our first waiter took the wrong order. Finally, the walkie-talkie guy runs to the kitchen and eventually we get our food. The food wasn't great. Had no seasoning what so ever. The cooking was ok, the presentation on the pasta dish was horrible, just everything slopped together. The table next to us asked for desert before our food came (they arrived after us) the waiter told them no because the kitchen was closing (really?). We asked for the manager who said he was deeply sorry and it was his first day (unlikely, we saw him talking with a friend the entire shift). He then said he would pay for my glass of wine and her lemonade (wow...) and then gave me the bill and said that if I came back tomorrow, he would personally take the order and everything would be perfect (and I would pay again). I was very surprised he had the guts to bring the bill and even more surprised by the behavior of the staff who blamed each other the whole time instead of taking action immediately.

We arrived at the Espersa hotel earlier today. That review will follow after we check out. We decided to stay in and booked the Ombra restaurant for dinner. We were seated promptly at our reservation time, and had a table right next to the railing. Our view of the sunset was beyond words. See attached pictures. My party was my sister and myself, she is a vegan and I am not. We started with the trio dip sampler, which was served with pita chips on the side. Our favorite was the hummus, which was actually outstanding. There was a fava dip, and also a roe fish dip, which was a little on the fishy side. However the other two were very tasty and we practically licked the bowls. That was followed by the spinach salad topped with sesame and a light oil and lemon vinaigrette. It was very fresh and crisp. My entrée was the shrimp ravioli which was one of the best meals I’ve had in Greece so far. My sister who is the vegan had the pasta dish which was risotto with tomatoes, basil, olive oil, and spices. It too was delicious. Our service was outstanding! Niko who is the manager was very attentive and knowledgeable about the wine options as well as details of the food menu. He and the servers were very friendly and welcomed us with friendly conversation and stories about the island. We watched an amazing sunset, and were in the best spot to watch it, drank a bottle of champagne had a wonderful dinner, and we’re very happy with our dining experience. The ambience was relaxing, and felt magical. Highly recommend this restaurant, we were given a after dinner drink on the house which was the official drink of Santorini. It was a very nice touch. Please visit them when on holiday!

No better place on Santorini to watch the sunset, eat exquisite food, and be treated with service that makes the customer never want to leave. Nico greets you with a smile and genuine care for your experience, Kristian makes your drinks with flair and expertise, and Tasos and Tasos (yes, there are 2) tend to your every need. Getting chilly? They’ll wrap you in a blanket. Want a picture at sunset? They will happily capture every angle. Hands down this is one of the best experiences you will have in Santorini.

First: take the directions from the restaurant website. Google maps will not lead you here, it is truly off the beaten path. Take google maps to the parking lot on the website map- and then follow the map from there. Trust me, it’s worth it. Perched above Amoundi Bay, Wow! My husband and I love finding these spots. Truly a “trip maker” of a restaurant we will talk about the food, the service, and the view for as long as we can remember. We went to a “fancier” restaurant in Oia the night before, and this one was WAY better on every level, food, view and service . Highly recommend. Ask for Kevin.

We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary with dinner at Ombra and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is hard to find. Recommend allowing extra time to get there. The views of the sunset were spectacular. The food was the best we had in Greece. Especially the octopus and shrimp ravioli. The serving staff were friendly, attentive, very knowledgable about the menu and were happy to take photographs. A bit pricey but well worth it.

I’m writing from my table! That’s how much I loved this place. The view is ridiculously gorgeous, and the staff is amazing. I came with my husband and my two kids and we all enjoyed the food and the environment. We had a chance to talk to the manager and he was so very nice! He even gave us some sweet wine “for dessert” and it was delicious. We absolutely recommend this place! You’ll feel like having a private dinner in your private terrace, away from the crowds and with the best view in Santorini. The sunset is unforgettable. Don’t miss it!

Trip advisor This may be the best kept secret! With everyone else fighting crowds in Oia to catch the famous sunset, we had front row seats, sipping a drink, enjoying the sunset over water with the whitewashed buildings cascading down the hillside around us. The staff was especially attentive and friendly - Dimitris, Giwrgros, Ismail, and Kristian - they really made us feel special. The restaurant is beautiful and the food is excellent. The other restaurants in town were more crowded and expensive, so Ombra was definitely worth going to. It’s a bit hard to find with the winding paths, but just look for the lower windmill and you will find the most spectacular view in an amazing restaurant. Highly recommend! My family has traveled many places and many counties (Mexico, Bermuda, Japan, Europe, Bahamas) and many states including Hawaii and Alaska) and this particular vacation is poignant in that it is the culmination of many years of family vacations. For each of us, we all agree, this has been the best sunset experience of our lives. The combination of food, service and sunset views has made this particular restaurant, hands down the best of the best. Can’t recommend it more. Enjoy!

Pam's 2023 Birthday Dinner abroad was a resounding success as the staff, dinner, dessert, and drinks were superb. And that says nothing about the exceptional views of the Santorini sunset which was likewise superb. We arrived early on the last weekend that Ombra was to be open for the season, which had its advantages in that it was not overly crowded allowing the bar and wait staff to provide attentive service with time to engage in conversation beyond merely taking orders. Dinner was equally divided between two sea bass and two lamb entrees. No one spoke much after being served as we were all thoroughly engrossed in our meals, which were delicious. The only issue we had was our and our phone apps' respective inability to precisely navigate the winding sidewalks and stairways of Oia, but frankly, getting there was part of the fun. There were plenty of laughs as we encountered dead ends and out of the way shops off the beaten path. Our takeaway - head to the windmill and turn left... Thanks for a wonderful dinner, we'll be back.

Arriving at the restaurant with uncertain expectations, we were pleasantly surprised, as the sun approached the horizon, we were promptly seated, and the staff, particularly Dennis, our attentive waiter, went above and beyond. Dennis took the time to guide us through the drink, starter, and main menus, ensuring we had a delightful experience. It goes without saying that the food was excellent, and the prices were far more reasonable compared to tourist traps. Definitely I recommend this hidden gem!

The view is the best in the world, the setting very private, very beautiful. The terrace is hard to find so give yourself extra time. It is hot in July, but once the sun sets it cools off. Food is delicious, wine is overly expensive. Service is a little slow, it’s a relaxed meal.

My wife and I landed this afternoon in Santorini after a few days in Rome; this is my first time to Europe and her first time to Greece. Our stay with Esperas has begun with a courteous driver, a friendly attendant, wonderful reception staff, and a dinner and service that we can’t speak well enough of. The Sea Bass makes one of my top three fish dishes; the lamb was not what we expected. My wife assumed a typical ‘rack of lamb’ style dish; but what was presented was an elevated, tender, crisp and flavorful slice of perfections. The dessert was literally worth clearing the entire plate. And finally, the octopus appetizer has been the best thing we’ve eaten, ousting anything we had in Rome, and may very well be one of the best dishes we’ve had in quite a long time.
