We came with the family for lunch and were disappointed. Food was fine but nothing to write home about. Minor things - we never received water we ordered and I was given the wrong wine despite checking - but when you are paying nearly $30...per dish in Zanzibar I expected more. Lovely setting but wish we'd stayed at hotel which was just a beautiful and food was better. I would say nice to get out and go somewhere different but not worth the hype.More

So unique it is realy nice to have been there. Lobster at its best. The lobster is so good and the large portions, so you even leave a little on the plate

The rock has become a tourist trap, $250 meal that was honestly the worst sea food I had my whole stay. Nit the rock of years ago. My advice is come take your photo and don't waste your money on eating here.

Spectacular in every way. After a day of touring Stone Town, this amazing place was just what we needed to soak in all that we had learned and eat some delicious authentic local food. A once in a lifetime treat!

Go for the venue, for the spectacular rock, for the (long) trip through green and colorful Sansibar, for wonderful pictures on the swing with the restaurant in the background, for the very good staff…but not for the food! It is not even the very high...prices! But me and my family are aligned with our rating, that we would not recommend if it would be about the food (only).More

As an experience , the venue is certainly worth a visit. The ambiance this unique building offers is most enjoyable.Personally the food was sadly not so top notch. My party of 5 had differing views on their food with a 40% good rating and 60% not so....I’d advise to avoid Tempura starter ( heavy batter) and the steak stick really poor as was mash potato. Wine and service good.More

Yes this is an expensive restaurant for zanzibar but of course it is!! the whole experience makes this justifiable. We went at 4pm, having checked the tide times, so the tide was in and got the boat there and back and lighting was beautiful towards...the end before sun setting. Food was the best we have had in zanzibar so far and the staff were great! It’s an incredible experience not to be missed- very much worth the trip! Got to be up there with one of the top locations for dinner in the world. The negative reviews of this place I feel are not a review of the restaurant itself but of the hype that this restaurant has around it or it’s location to other resort areas. Which I don’t feel is the best way to review a restaurant.More

Sadly this beautiful unique restaurant has become commercialized and over-priced. The seafood was over cooked and tasteless and the meal was oily. I would not recommend going.

The restaurant itself has a nice vibe however the food does not add up to the hype. Overrated for sure. Also there was absolutely no water around the restaurant due to low tide all week which should be mentioned on the website prior booking. Ask...for stefano as your server as he is great! 10/10 stefano.More

What a great experience! Make reservations, and, enjoy! Food was great especially the drinks-RED GRANITA! But the staff were the best-attentive, friendly and fun! Take tons of pics and they’ll assist you.

I read a few bad reviews about this restaurant but I thought it was great. The staff couldn’t do more for you even though they were rushed off their feet. Food was lovely and picture perfect setting

The food was excellent and tasty. I had the back in black meal, which was black rice and octopus (if my memory serves me well). It was so tasty. The octopus stew with pasta was also amazing. It was so packed but we were fortunate...enough to get a table outside overlooking the ocean. If ever you are in Zanzibar, make a stop at this restaurant.More
