Great bar, great cocktails, great atmosphere. The owner is a very welcoming and sweet lady. We went there twice in 5 days and had a great time. The place to be for an apero in sal rei. Super endroit. Interdit d'aller a sal rei et de ne pas prendre l'apero au wakan.

The lady that runs the bar brought out lots of different snacks to have with our drinks.Very tasty. She also gave us coins to give to another man in a bar to let us use their toilets as ther aren't any there. Very thoughtful of her.Very chatty and interesting lady.

Sitting in the Wakan boat and sipping a cocktail overlooking the old port of Sal-Rei is one of the best things you can do to enjoy the Boa Vista evenings. They have a extended cocktail menu, they like to put in some extra care by using local ingredients and they always offer you a small snack to complement your drink.... More

Fantastic bar with always a warm welcome. The multi lingual staff make you feel like you've known them for years. This quaint little boat themed bar feels like an oasis and we couldn't resist going back for drinks most days after the beach. The cocktails are tip top, they are always serving delicious nibbles and snacks and the food is... More

We used this bar several times when we visited Cape Verde. The staff are very friendly, bringing out snacks and nibbles, having a little chat! Lovely quirky bar, and she gave me a little clay turtle which was a lovely treat! We did find we paid a lot more here for a large beer to the bar round the corner... More

Lovely little bar in the middle of the road in Sal Rei - speciality teas etc, quite quaint and unusual - well worth a visit. Staff were friendly.

Great place for a drink or two after beach. Served with a smile and local small snacks, with the story behind them. Sit down and enjoy the vibe of Sal Rei.

A really nice and quirky little bar, with nice cold beer and excellent 'illy' coffee imported from Italy, how fab. Lovely, chatty staff who switch effortlessly between English, French, Portuguese and Creole in responding to their customers. Very knowledgeable about Cape Verde, and just a nice spot to grab a drink and watch the world go by, perfect!

Nice bar and well located, friendly staff and the locals made us feel welcome! Ignore comments in the hotels about not venturing out! We had no trouble apart from an odd person trying to sell us gifts! Not in the bar though!
