But, if you appreciate ambience, creativity, re-interpretation of classic dishes, extremely knowledgeable wait staff, customized pacing of the dining experience, then THIS IS IT! Went with another couple (their first, but certainly not last experience here!) ALL menu, dish preparation, and dietary restriction questions thoroughly answered - and then delivered as promised. No "who gets the veal" questions, just exemplary... More

The menu they give you is not worth looking at. The specials are the only thing they really push. They like to perform explaining all the specials. It's sort of fun the first time, but when you go back more than once you realize that the specials are always the same. The food is very rich, don't go there if... More

After hearing consistently, -great feedback from others, I finally went during Rest Week & it was a little piece of Italy. The decor is charming...like a wine cellar in a Tuscan villa w/all kinds of memorabilia along the beamed ceiling. We started w/cocktails, which were more than generous pours. Appys were: Mistro Terra (a variety of grilled veggies, cheeses &... More

This was the second time my husband and I went for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The wait staff is very efficient and talented. Unfortunately, the price for the value of the meal is not satisfactory. Despite a lengthy menu, they offer and focus upon about 40 nightly specials that are extremely overpriced. For 40 dollars, I had 3 large... More

It's restaurant week in the Hudson Valley and we chose to eat lunch at Il Cena'Colo in Newburgh, NY. For $20.95, there is a choice of an appetizer, main course and dessert. For appetizer I had two very large mushrooms stuffed with bread crumbs, pancetta and a touch of mint which were delicious. My friend had their antipasto which she... More

I have been to the restaurant a few times always with gift certificate. The food is good but the restaurant is overly impressed with itself to the point of being pompous. The have a menu but then have a list of specials longer than menu almost always the same!? There are many restaurants with better ambiance and as good food... More

As Newburgh residents, Il Cena'Colo has been our go-to special dinner spot for a decade. It's pricey, but absolutely worth it. Amazing Italian food and always an extensive list of daily specials on the menu. Truly a gem.
