Girlfriend and I went for dinner after working late, so arrived at about 745. Service was spotty and definately a language barrier with the waitress. Food is served very fast, like appetizers salad and entree all on the table inside of about five minutes. Drinks...took about ten minutes to get and waitress was a ghost after first round. Flavor wasn't bad and presentation although rushed was still nice.We had hot appetizers from the kitchen and sashimi from the sushi bar. Problems came the next day, as I was reminded of where we ate three times during the day. The sense of urgency I experienced made me thankful I was home. Mind you, I usually really enjoy street food from questionable carts with no Ill effects. Dirty water hot dogs and meat on a stick is my go to while walking any city. I usually have an iron stomach and never had a problem with ANY Asian cuisine. Girlfriend had same experience during the day to a more extreme degree. She actually looked a little beat up by the afternoon, and we were both tired. From someone who can eat nails and never get sick, you have been warned.More

My family went to Iron Chef and encountered the following problems. We just arrived and the drink taker stopped and asked for our order. I politely told him to come back in a few minutes. Heck, we didn't even have our coats off or look...at the drink menu they provided. We ordered 4 drinks and one didn't arrive and the waitress was asked twice about it. Not good! 4 meals were ordered and three were delivered and one we had to ask for over and over. Another mistake. Also, 3 of the dishes came with fried rice but it wasn't delivered with the main dish. I had to ask twice for the rice. By the time it arrived our food was cold. We won't go there again. It is sad as the restaurant is decorated nicely and food and atmosphere was fine. As for the service I found it rather sad and pathetic.More

My boyfriend and I went for the Hibachi dinner last night at the Iron Chef restaurant in Newburgh. This was my sixth ....and last time there. Not only did we have to wait for a long time in a crowded and cold lobby area, even...with reservations. We were seated in a very cold hibachi table room with air blowing on us. Everyone was freezing and eating with their coats on. I asked management to please make the room warmer and they said, it is because it is cold outside. Really?!!? So now add insult to injury! There was absolutely no apologies or attempts to rectify the situation. I shivered through the meal, and even the chef commented to me that he saw I was cold. Then when paying for the meal ...which seriously didn’t warrant a tip....they demanded a tip. We will never return and we are saddened by the horrific lack of customer service. Too bad..... because the meals are always delicious....and the restaurant is truly beautiful.More

Very nice restaurant in a hidden location in beautiful Newburgh NY. Menu was very good and service was excellent. Food was very good and reasonably priced. Will definitely go back and highly recommend to others.

My wife and I stopped for an early dinner and found the staff, service, food and atmosphere very good. My wife had Hong Kong Duck (roasted duck with hoisin sauce, toasted garlic bread on the side, white rice and salad or soup). The meal was...over vegetables. I opted for the Blue ocean (shrimp, scallops, salmon over vegetables with white rice and butter garlic teriyaki sauce. There was also a choice of salad or soup. An overall good dining experience. We will go there again, for sure.More

Simple, quick and healthy hibachi meal. I had the salmon and it came with a salad and fried rice which was good but not on a low carb diet. The other two people in our party had same as myself but the shrimp and also...one other a salad. For starter we had edamame. All agreed this was our 'go to' place for lunch while we were working in the area. We were all on low carb diets and needed healthy and fast for a quick lunch that would not blow our per diem.More

We (spouse, adult daughter & I) went to Iron Chef in Newburgh yesterday afternoon for Hibachi as a birthday treat - we had reservations, which likely helped, but we were seated at the grill table when we got there & there was another family group...of 4 on the other side of the table (including a young child). The chef was was fun (& the child was delighted at everything except the standard volcano onion). More importantly, the food was excellent - and the chef gave my vegetarian daughter her vegetables before adding the meat to the grill (without being asked). I've had more flavorful hibachi fried rice, but the vegetables were the best I've had at any hibachi restaurant, and the filet mignon really was filet mignon. Overall, it really was excellent. And the price was reasonable for a hibachi meal. The service was also very good, very quick & unobtrusive (but if you want chopsticks, you will need to request them). We really enjoyed it & would definitely go back again the next time we want hibachiMore

I went on a date with my spouse here last night and I was pleasantly surprised! We usually drive 35 minutes away to another Hibachi restaurant which is excellent cause the other Hibachi restaurants around my neck of the woods is just ok! But now...I can drive 7 minutes from my house and enjoy the same great taste, pleasant and warm decor, and great service! The only knock is that on Fridays and Saturdays you have to make a reservation! Cheers!More
