When we first dated, we went to Twin Ponds often. We loved it, and had our wedding reception there. Last Friday night we thought we would re-live history and go back to where it all started for us. It was different. The seating was in...front of the windows and we had a great view. One thing did strike us and that was the noise level. We didn’t remember it being this loud. The service was good, the food was OK, but not quite the way we remembered it.More

Our daughter had an absolutely phenomenal wedding reception here! The gardens were beautiful for pictures, everyone raved about how good the food was, and the owners were great to work with. They even had a gluten free dish for one of our guest, and assisted...another with a dish she could eat, without prompting from us, as she had an unusual allergy that we didn't know about. We had a great time and we hope our other children come back here for their receptions someday!More

A group of us (5) went to this restaurant because we heard it was trying to build its reputation. Big mistake. Our reservation was at 7:30pm. After seating us, it took the rather confused but aggressive waiter 25 minutes to finally take our order. After...about 20 minutes, the Risotto Croquettes appetizer my wife and I had ordered arrived. Unusual to have it slathered in marinara sauce, but OK. Then we found that the mozzarella in the center was frozen! Sent it back, didn't want more. Our friends had not ordered an appetizer, so onto the salads, which arrived shortly thereafter. The dressings were correct, but only because our waiter came back two times to recheck our order. Then we waited. And waited. 80 minutes after placing our order, I informed a staff member that if we didn't get our food in 10 minutes, we were leaving. It then finally arrived, 85 minutes after ordering. They did manage to get the Tennessee Style Sirloin, lamb rack, and filet done as requested; the chicken francaise was OK, and my Veal Rollades were actually cooked. The 'restaurant' is actually a group of tables arranged around a very large circular bar. It was our misfortune to be there on a Friday night when they had a band. The sound was so loud we had to shout at each other across the table. We were also offered a free drink because of the problems encountered. We all refused and left as quickly as we could. Avoid this restaurant. There are much better in the area.More

The bar/dining room feels a little like you went back in time to the 90s but if you don't mind that, it's a fantastic place for dinner. Our waitress was knowledgeable and attentive despite being the only server there. We ordered the rice balls as...an appetizer and they were delicious. Salads were also great and they have several homemade dressings. I had the vegetable ravioli and my fiance had the fish fry special that was prepared as a sort of fish parmesan - crusted with parm and melted mozzarella. Both dishes were delicious and we had to take some to go. The prices are pretty reasonable for such top-notch food. There was a band there and the ambiance is a little silly but if you go with a sense of humor and an open mind, you will be rewarded with an amazing meal.More

It's a banquet kind of place with banquet food. Not going to overwhelm you with the cuisine but it won't disappoint. Great photo opportunities on the grounds for weddings. If you live in the Utica area, you've been to Twin Ponds and the experience is...marked by good service, decent food, good time.More

As we drove up Twin Ponds, I was hopeful that this beautiful setting would be a great place for dinner with my husband and his Mom. We walked into the clubhouse with a retro feel of 60's architecture that I thought was cool at first...glance with a circular room and bar that opens up for dinner on Friday and Saturday nights. The two man band was the attraction for what appeared to be "the regulars" who are there not only for dinner but dancing too. For newcomers, it was a bit off putting to have the music so loud that we couldn't have a conversation without shouting. There was a feel that you were intruding on someone else's party. Add to that, we had to wait for the busy bartender to get to us for our first drink, followed by an hour's wait after we ordered our entree because they forgot to thaw the fish for our meal. They did offer free beverages to make up for the inconvenience but it really didn't make up for the mediocre food that was very disappointing.More

We celebrated a graduation here and it was the perfect venue for the 4 families in our group, from drinks at the circular bar to the tables set up along the wall of glass overlooking the golf course. Our meals were delicious and the servings...quite generous. The wait staff was very friendly though the bartender disappeared for a little while, which slowed things up considerably. But we were very pleased overall.More

I must disagree with the other reviewers here. We were there on Mother's Day recently with my mother-in-law. The setting is excellent, and the table decorations and general ambience were also very good. Once seated, we had to wait maybe 15 minutes before a waiter...came to take a drinks order. He was very flustered, and told us this was his first night. We ordered a bottle of wine at which point he started to take away our menus. As we had yet to order, this was a problem! We asked to order, but he insisted on getting the drinks first. We then waited another 10 minutes or so, during which once of the hostesses came over and we pointed out that we still had neither received our drinks nor been able to place our order. She told us that they had several new wait staff that night. We explained that that was not really an excuse, and she agreed. Eventually, I went to the bar and asked the barman to give me our wine. He bought it over a few minutes later. Soon after, we were finally able to order. My wife ordered a medium-rare steak, I ordered pork and my mother-in-law had chicken francese. The salads were excellent; crisp and flavorful. When the steak arrived, it was clearly medium and without much flavor. My pork was OK, but again did not have a lot of flavor. The chicken was fine. Their signature potatoes were also quite excellent. At this point, we elected to leave and enjoy desert elsewhere.More

The restaurant is only open Friday & sat. Evenings until the wedding seasons get underway. Then only on friday. It is located in a country club. On Friday the drinks are 2 for 1 from 4:30 - 7:30 plus appetizers are buy one the second...1/2 price. The dinner menu is extensive. Something for everyone. On Sat. There is a live music duo. The meal I had was duck breast with their special potatoes that I believe are roasted crunchy on the outside. The salad is interesting with parmasian crisp. The bread is crusty with a spicy tomato dip. My husband,s flat iron steak was equally wonderful. A very satisfying mealMore

We love going to Twin Ponds on a Friday evening after a long week. The staff is wonderful and very attentive. Andy our waiter makes sure we are comfortable and have everything we need. There is live music to dance to on most Friday nights....Beginning in November, live dance music starts on Saturday nights. Menu is interesting and portions are more than adequate. We love the circular bar design which dates back quite a few years. You can't beat the Cosmo for a delicious cocktail...2 for 1 mixed drinks until 7:30 on Fridays...stop in...you won't be disappointed. Check the website for music schedule.More

We ate here with another couple on a Friday in August. We started with drinks at the circular bar and were pleasantly surprised they were 2 for 1 during happy hour. The dining tables are arranged around the bar each by a window affording a...view. The salads were tasty and fresh, the braubant potatoes delicious and my double filet mignon medallions among the best Ive ever had. My wife had red snapper which was very good. The DJ was talented and kept us and the folks dancing entertained. The one small criticism I have is upon entering there is a stale smell of cigarette smoke (It may be time to replace the carpets). All in all a very nice and affordable evening.More
