La Rosa Pizza have the best pizza ever in New Rochelle. I've tried almost all the others and theirs is by far the best. Thin crust and very delicious salsa like the original Italian pizza. Pizza lovers now have a place to go.
Been out of the area for a while, but got motivated after my neighbor dropped off a pie at my house Managed to come out for lunch, drinks and dinner. The pie might be a little smaller than other pizzerias, but the pizza is excellent...here and have become one of our family's favorites. I also got a chance to try their meatballs and house mozzarella, which were good, and got the chicken parm, which was a lot more than I expected and excellent. I could have gotten a side of pasta, but with the pizza, it was more than I needed. The bar area is very small and best if you're stopping in for a beer or wine.More
Absolutely love this place. Not only was the food incredible, but we were served by the owner (Matt) and he was so friendly, helpful, and generous.
I highly recommend the white pie. Everything from the cheese (loved the ricotta with a hint of lemon) to...the caramelized onions to the surprisingly great addition of sesame seeds on the crust was just perfect.
We finished with the Italian Doughnuts and they were really great. Hot, fresh, moist, with a subtle hint of lemon. Such a good way to end the meal.
My family has come twice and we will definitely be back again (and again)!More
Had my daughter's Sweet 16 family gathering here (about 20 people). The food was absolutely amazing! Everyone raved with enthusiasm. The wait staff was pleasant and the food delivered in a timely manner. A big shout out to the owners and the staff for giving...us such a wonderful experience! Overall, was extremely happy with the outcome, and all of our guests, including the Birthday Girl, were happy! Would undoubtedly recommend this quaint, little, hidden gem. I give this establishment an undeniable 2 thumbs up! 👍👍 Plan on returning in the future whenever I can. Also menu pricing is very reasonable. Catering to 20 people would have costed much more elsewhere. For the quality and quantity of food, could not be beat!
Side Note: Side room they use for special occasions is small, but wasn't an issue for us, but probably wouldn't accommodate many more people than 20 people, comfortably.More
Pizza aficionados highly recommended this spot to us!
The pizzas they turn out have super thin crispy crusts that are very tasty. We tried the white pizza which several other tables highly recommended. (Mozzarella cheese, ricotta, pecorino, caramelized onions and sesame seeds.) The combination of...cheeses was yummy. However, I wish that the crust had a bubbly chewy edge to compliment the crisp thin crust. No bubbles, no chew, just crispy the whole way through, so if you’re into thin and crispy, this is the place for you! There was also a two inch area of bare crust around the rim - I would have preferred to have the cheese extend closer to the edge.
The arugula salad was a great accompaniment - fresh and bright with a light lemon vinaigrette. And a generous portion to share!
Nice new addition to New Rochelle. Reasonably priced, too.
Parking is in a lot behind the restaurant. The entrance is from the street behind the restaurant - get there early as it’s not large.More
Finally found some excellent pizza in New Rochelle. The chef also served up a very tasty arugula salad (not over dressed) and egg plant rollatini.
Selection of beers was also very good.
Recommend the margarita pizza with meat ball topping.
Ran in for some takeout from the old Modern Restaurant location. Delightful hole-in-the-wall with 90-year-old brick oven. Young, thoughtful staff. Delicious food--an eggplant rolotini with fresh tomato sauce and creamy mozzarella; a quite unusual yet yummy white thin-crust pizza, and a serving of zeppole that...was like angel food cake. A lovely diverse wait staff and customers; the feeling of a hipster place without the insufferable customers that usually come along. Look forward to going back.More
Our family's favorite local pizza. The menu is limited but perfect. The white pie with caramelized onions is what dreams are made of. The salads are also delicious. It is a small restaurant and can get busy, but they also do take-out and delivery.
