I love to eat here. It's a small Pizzeria/Restaurant. You can eat at the bar, in the pizza area or in the dining room. The staff makes you feel comfortable no matter where you sit. I often eat alone, and I always feel welcome here.
The food never disappoints. Whether I am having a full dinner such as a branzino or a personal pizza, the angelina pizza is my favorite; the food is always excellent.
And now due to Covid, I feel safe eating indoor at this cafe. Everyone is wearing masks, they are constantly cleaning, all the tables are separated and they have an air purifier machine. Highly recommend for single eating or eating with friend and family!

I actually did not eat in, I ordered take out. We order from them about once a week, we love the food. The salads are very good too! Sometimes we will have the salad for dinner, they are very filling.
But above all, they have fantastic customer service! They may make a mistake here and there, but how they handle it is what it’s all about.
I’ve gone to other restaurants who have sent the wrong item, or left items out of the order and their attitude was like “not us, we don’t make mistakes “ or sorry, there’s nothing we can do now”. I no longer go to those restaurants!

It was edible except the 6th shrimp which was not fresh. I ordered it because of the greens, peanuts and the dressing’s description.
It was served with a few shreds of orange carrots and insufficient salad dressing. The shrimps at $1 each are pricey. Had those been bigger shrimps, fresh, with some other colorful salad ingredients like tomatoes, avocado, red bell pepper, cucumber or mandarin orange, it would have looked appetizing and worth the price.
It was the first time I was disappointed after having three lunches in Iavarone when I was always highly satisfied with my meal. It was our first dinner there and the lunch selections were not in the dinner menu.
Service remains polite, attentive and prompt!

Ordered 2 glasses of chianti with lunch @$12 each. Asked waitress what the bottle price would be. She went to check with her manager and told us it would be $38. We told her we would just have the two glasses. We were billed for the whole bottle. When we objected she went back to her manager who said because she left the bottle on the table after pouring the two glasses we would have to pay for it. $38 for a $15 bottle of Ruffino. Food was nothing to write home about

So tender pork chop with crunchy edges, fine tasting balsamic glaze that brings out the best in the arugula, cubed mozzarella, tomatoes and red onions. Delightful!

Ok we love Ivorone’s but when it comes to our Turkey for Thanksgiving keep the garlic in the pasta dishes! We spend a lot of money at Ivonne’s. Their fruits and vegetables are fantastic. Their meats, cheeses, prepared dishes all wonderful Italian dishes. But when it comes to our Turkey please keep the garlic out of it. Awful! Or at least say Garlic Loaded Turkey! We had to buy a prepared dinner for thanksgiving what better place than Ivonne’s? But the traditional Turkey for Thanksgiving is..maybe a few sprigs of thyme, salt , pepper butter basted. But never did we expect it to be loaded with garlic and oregano. We love the Taste of Turkey, not garlic. Hoping you will offer it the traditional way without garlic.

A once hidden high end gem in the back of a pizza counter is gone. Classy decor has become a noisy cafeteria. The Maitre d in a suit is gone. Gourmet food has become very average and commercial. Excellent service has become “adequate “ service
It’s the way of the new world, don’t put in extra effort to excel, just do enough to get by. I used to travel 15 miles to eat here. I won’t be back

My sister took us to Iavarone Cafe for a casual lunch recently. I had a house salad and my husband had a slice of pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The pizza was so good that my husband wanted me to try some. I agreed with him that it was the best pizza we ever had. The crust was thin and crisp. It was made with just the right amount of pepperoni and fresh mushrooms so that it wasn’t too oily.
The green salad was ok. I thought it was pricey for what I got. The service was excellent.

Went there for dinner with mom. Modest dinner. I had the Pasta E Fagioli and we shared a sausage pizzette.
The soup was just OK. It had plenty of pasta and beans but other than that was pretty much tasteless. It was hot and the beans and pasta were well prepared but the soup itself was a little bland.
The pizzette was cooked correctly but I did not care for the taste. My mom liked it.
The one thing I hate is when I get the bill and see that soda refills are not free. To add insult to injury, the cost of each soda was $2.75. That is a lot for a single glass. For that much, refills should be included.
The service was very good. No issues with that.

Bologna SR was average. Panini was competent, but not “WOW”
I would try other foods before passing judgement, but it seems to be a good pizza/Italian restaurant.

Iavarone Cafe (Italian Kitchen) on 1534 Union Turnpike
New Hyde Park, Nassau County Long Island, NY 11040
What a 'precious' 'hide-out' of a gem this turned out to be.
The Iavarone Family have a cozy "Right-Size" 'Diner-Like'
Eatery inside The Lake Sucess Shopping Center "just up"
from Lakeville Road, right next door to their own Iavarone
Food "Super-Market" Center which is a whole other-delight in
its own right!
WoW. If you are ever hungry for a great Italian meal at very reasonable prices and happen to be in this area, we feel it would very-worth your while to stop in and enjoy being spoiled rotten.
We came in from their own Iavarone next-door "Super-Market", saw it and went in.
Our Pasta Meals were outrageously delectable.
We went in during a weekday late afternoon for an early dinner.
Table Server at our Table the moment we were seated.
We were served "hand-over-foot" spoiled rotten by our
every-present, ever-attentive Table Server.
The Prices were unbelievably decent to our pocket
books, even with drinks and a very-generous
(well-deserved) Tip included.
We WILL be back again the very-next time we are hungry and
in the neighborhood.

Take out in front, tables in back, party space downstairs. A spinoff from high quality grocer/caterer next door in Lake Success shopping center. Basic Italian but all a step above typical joints.
Only complaint: it’s often crowded & a bit loud.
