Jelly croissants and donuts are amazing! We have been coming here during our annual visits to Montauk - last year for some reason we were not thrilled with the cleanliness of the shop however everything was up to par again as it has been in the past (different staff it appears?)
We used to get the egg croissant sandwiches and in the past they were outstanding, however during this visit it was disappointing and just did not taste the same. We will stick to the croissants and donuts moving forward.
Come for the baked goods and you’ll be happy!

We ordered the key lime tart, jelly croissant, cream croissant, eclair, and Boston cream donut. If you like jelly filled donuts you will probably like the jelly croissant…but I really liked the cream one better. The Boston cream donut was good. The eclair was “lite” tasting…not too heavy or sweet. The best thing we had though was the key lime tart. It was the very best key lime pie/tart that I ever had….which is a compliment since I try key lime tart/pie everywhere I see it on a menu. Husband isn’t a huge fan of key lime but he said that was the best out of everything and loved it. He agreed that the cream croissant was better than the jelly filled one. They had carrot cupcakes, brownies, and coconut cupcakes which looked good but for the price we paid, which was $22 for just those 5, we decided not to try them…maybe next time. The croissant was a “different” dessert…never tried a stuffed one before. Thought it was strange the other reviews referred to bees…but I did see one bee (in chilly November) by the door.

Absolutely the best experience. My son had wanted a doughnut and we walked up to the Montauk Bake Shop just as they had closed. He was so disappointed until all of a sudden a side window opened and a member of their team handed him a doughnut. They went above and beyond and I couldn’t have been more appreciative. They absolutely made our day and I can’t say enough about how amazing the experience and the quality of their pastries.

I was so excited to go to this bake shoppe. It has such high ratings. We went in the afternoon to order lunch and to try some of their scrumptious goodies. I ordered 4 chocolate rugelach and a chocolate chip scone . I also ordered a turkey wrap and my husband ordered a crispy chicken wrap which were $12 each. While we were waiting, I started to look at all the scrumptious goodies in the cases. It was then that I noticed the bees. As another customer pointed out, the bees were climbing on the pastries and the employees did not do anything about it. The 3 stars are for the food. Everything was delicious, but something should be done about the bees climbing on the food they are selling. A simple solution would be to install a screen door, (The door is wide open for air) and to put a sliding door behind each case so the bees can't go into the pastry cases. As soon as that is fixed, I would give it 5 stars.

Saw a huge line so we thought it was worth the wait. It’s not. Completely overrated breakfast wraps that had no taste and felt like I got it from a crappy deli. Waited to place our order and it took 1 hour total. Skip.

My husband and I frequent Montauk and always make it a point to stop at the bake shop. Everything was pretty good until our last visit. I will never be back. The employees allowed at least 10 bees to crawl all over the doughnuts and other baked goods. Absolutely disgusting!!! There wasn’t even any attempt at trying to remove the bees or at least throw out the food that had insects on it. No doubt they are selling the same baked goods and people are eating something that had bees crawling on it. I get that it’s Labor Day weekend and they are busy, and also that a bee can fly in with the door wide open, but come on that is disgusting. I wanted to vomit especially since my husband and I have eaten plenty of items from the shop in the past. I don’t even want to know how hygienic the rest of the food preparation is especially since I saw the cashier handle cash and go to make bagels without gloves or washing hands. Absolutely repulsive. I will never ever be back.

We’ve always loved the bakery. Been going there for decades. This year with Covid, we wanted more takeout breakfasts. Food is always fresh and delicious. And the staff is super patient and professional. Great part of Montauk’s tradition.

Nice location close to the Lighthouse state park. The sandwiches were absolutely delicious! So fresh and plentiful. The bakery selections are amazing! Very fresh , friendly service , and reasonably priced. Pick up some grub and head on to the lighthouse to eat!

Long wait times for average quality food. Please note that this is a cash only place.
Also check your receipt due to many places in Montauk "round up" to the next dollar which is illegal in the state of NY.

Excellent friendly service with delicious baked goods, sandwiches, bagels and more. Really enjoyed the crispy chicken sandwich on focaccia, the jam cookies and the jelli donuts were out of this world.

Went on a Sunday morning and line move along. Daughters picked a number of items. Wife thought the muffin was good. I thought the doughnuts were just average.
