Limited menu....very limited and very expensive for fried fish and french fries ! Over rated for dinner...lunch is why you come here. Soooo much better in years past. I was shocked to see a waiter toss drinks over the railing into the water...CLASSY ! Don't waste your money.....

This was our first night in Montauk and we were looking forward to dinner here. Very disappointed we went to dinner at 6pm they had no oysters and that’s what we came for and they also ran out of Salmon. It’s a Wednesday evening in a Seafood restaurant that is highly rated for oysters. The lobster bisque was ehh. And we both had the rigatoni with a Cajun cream sauce and shrimp. The shrimp were a nice size but again the sauce was lacking. It was a cream sauce that was so watered down it had no flavor. I would never go again. Not a good start to a mini vacation as far as food was concerned.

Our party of 6 had a nice dinner here. Location is great and the Food was good (tuna tartar cones are excellent). The downside is they are very unaccommodating, asked for a bowl of plain pasta ( any shape) for my daughter and was told no, I would have to order the Shrimp & Scallop Pasta 'alla vodka" for $29 and have the seafood on the side...unhelpful! then as the food arrived another member of our party asked for some lettuce for her burger, again was told no. We originally thought the waitress was joking but she was not. Mentioned this to a manager since she came over and asked how dinner was. Her response was " we are short handed.....unacceptable! Will make sure we bring some lettuce if we ever dine here again!

Below average food, extremely poor service and overall not a great experience. There’s a ton of great seafood places in Montauk with amazing views, I would skip this one. Can’t describe to you how incredibly rude the hostesses were when trying to get a table for dinner, that should have been the first red flag. Over priced food for very bland mediocre seafood… the service was beyond terrible. The food runner didn’t speak to us just handed us our food and expected us to pass the correct dishes around the table… then didn’t ask if we needed anything. The waitress didn’t come to check on us at all to ask if the food was ok, to clear plates, refill drinks, nothing. And when she did she came to take our order and give us our check. I wouldn’t come back here ever again. The only thing they have going for them is the location. Extremely disappointed. Do better.

I normally never give reviews but this restaurant is absolutely awful. My boyfriend and I were looking for a good restaurant for our date night. We requested a table by the window for the stunning view and were denied because it was reserved for a party of 4 or more. Its was empty there and we saw other guests sitting by the window that were couples just like us. The waitress her name is Sarah looked down on me because I’m a Latina. Racism in 2023! Just dropped off our drinks with no straws. My boyfriend asked for our lobster to be streamed and she gave us a rude look and said we only broil them. There was a bug in my glass of wine. Lobster looked old not fresh at all. We looked at other guests entrees who ordered the same as us and they had bigger portions and lobster looked clean & fresh. Will never back to this restaurant ever again

We went for raw bar and a drink. The waitress asked us when we ordered raw bar if we were ordering dinner and we said we were unsure. We were informed the chef insisted we put in our order all at once. Maybe he/she should look around the patio on Sunday nite of 4th of July weekend and nite the empty tables. We declined to order dinner as the last couple times we have visited the food tastes like it is from the freezer. Gosmans was sold and it’s all been downhill since. Would not eat there except for the raw bar and drink.

We were there last night and wondered why so many empty tables and also no waiting. We ordered steamers, which was only a half of the plate the rest of the plate was a bowl of water and a small bowl of butter. Not worth $30 for maybe a half pound of steamers. We also had New England Clam Clowder. It was glorified Creamy potato soup hardly any clams, plenty of potatoes, We also had lobsters not even cracked. It came with Cole slaw and French fries. You can count how many French fries were in a separate small dish. This for sure is a tourist trap, never again. There are plenty of other restaurants in town to enjoy a good meal.

While this is a classic location with a beautiful view, the experience was ruined when I had to sit with nothing but a drink in front of me while my family ate, because they could not accommodate my dietary restrictions. The kids enjoyed their chicken fingers and the other people in our party, rated their meal, as “OK,”and “good”, The new chef couldn’t create or come up with a single option that didn’t include dairy or meat. Last year I was accommodated without issue. I’ve never had this experience at a nice restaurant (just Applebees which is to be expected at a cheap chain). It just speaks to the quality and creativity that is lacking in the kitchen at this location. The waitress was nice enough if a little young and clueless. She said she could bring me a wedge salad but I wasn’t about to pay $17 for a half a block of iceberg and some tomatoes since the other toppings were bacon, cheese, and ranch dressing. Disappointing for this vegan.

Not the Goseman's of old! After Waiting for our table for 30 minutes at the unwiped bar, and paying $ 26.05 for one tap beer and a gin and tonic, We were seated and the waitress pounced before we even picked up the menus. Asked for two minutes. 20 minutes later she still had come back. We left!

We were so excited to take our family to dinner at Gossmans…… that ended the minute we sat down.
We felt like the wait staff rushed us in and out, making our dining experience very disappointing. We were offered no specials or drink options. When going to dinner and spending hundreds of dollars you would expect a level of service to match.
We all agreed we had a better experience ordering from the Sammy’s food truck across the street and bringing it onto the beach to enjoy.
Gossman’s will no longer be our choice for a nice dinner out when visiting Montauk.

I took my wife here after whale watching on Viking fleet for dinner for our anniversary. My wife loves seafood and we were in Montauk for a few days so I decided to take here to Gossman's. I am not a seafood lover at all and was pleased when I looked at the menu and saw they had a black angus burger in it. When I ordered for my wife and myself I was told by the waitress that I could not have it because they only serve that till 4pm. The only explanation I got when I asked why was thats how the owner wants it. I wrote an email to the general manager of Gossman's when we returned home but I never got a response. I feel people should know this because there are lots of people like myself who do not like seafood but go to seafood restaurants with people who do expecting a few other options other then seafood especially if your bringing children as most would prefer a cheese burger rather then seafood. Thank you

We were seated on the pretty outside patio overlooking the pier. Our tasty but not special appetizers [lobster bisque and bruschetta] arrived after 30 minutes. An hour later, the poor waiter told us that the kitchen was "getting slammed" by an indoor private event. We wanted to leave, but he told us our food would be ready in 10 minutes. My husband ordered his tuna steak "medium rare", but the middle was cold, rubbery, and inedible. It was seasoned with salt and too much pepper. The 10 - 15 tables around us had no food at all. We left and had dinner elsewhere -- sort of spoiled an otherwise beautiful night out. The reason why I am not leaving 1 star is that the waiter did what he could to please the customers: free drinks, knocking items off the bill. He tried to decline the tip I wanted to leave him for the whole dinner [if we had paid].

We arrived a few minutes before the kitchen closed at 8.55pm which was fine as we only wanted drinks. We were told we could get our drinks at the bar and then sit at the far end of the dock not in the outdoor patio which we found was pretty rude. We then went into the bar to get our drinks where the male bartender ignored us for 5 mins while he was swearing and cursing to another member of staff, he saw as we were the only people standing there but didn't acknowledge us at all. When he finally did serve us he was snarly and even rude and sarcastic when I commented how I was surprised that tap wasn't available for payment on the debit machine, everywhere has tap now for years!! So not a good experience at all, we had just arrived in Montauk that evening and for the rest of our stay we didn't wish to frequent any of the Gosman establishments which seem to have the monopoly in that part of the town.

Been coming to Gosmans for years, but this time will be our last. The service was a joke. Waiter come to table and says they have a new chef and manager. I ask if there are any specials today, he says they have a flounder special but he has to ask chef if any are left. After 20 minutes I flag another waiter and ask him to find our waiter, ten minutes later our waiter returns and asks if we are ready to order. I ask of the special is still available and he said he couldn’t find the chef to ask if any left, he leaves again. Another five minutes he returns and says the do have a flounder special, I order the flounder special and my wife gets the swordfish.
When the food arrives I am speechless, one small piece of flounder and a few steamed broccoli. No seasoning nothing on flounder, I mean nothing. It looked like cafeteria food! My wife’s swordfish was not much better, a tiny bit of breadcrumbs topping and again a few steamed broccoli. Waiter never comes by to ask if OK or we liked food, which we did not. Finally some comes to clear table of our horrible food. I ask to see manager, they can’t find him. I get bill and the tiny piece of flounder is $38, what a waste of money.
Don’t waste time nor money till they sell Gosmans and get someone who cares what they serve. I wish I could give a half star.

Unlike the photo posted on their 8/23/2023 Facebook page, our 15 year tradition of Mudslides at Topside was met with plastic cups full of tasteless, apparently virgin crushed ice with some chocolate syrup. After years of speaking of this annual visit, the couple we introduced to Gosman's, Topside, and Mudslides insisted on placing the order and paying for the 'cocktails' . We were completely embarrassed by the experience, and none of us plan to return. Truly disappointing. No apology from management; I should have taken a photo.
