I have been going here to the Ship Lantern Inn for over 50 years and always receive excellent service and Outstanding food. ( Their Escarcot is the best ) Two of the waiters have been working there for over 57 years and are the best. Highly recommend the Ship to all - Dave

Ship Lantern Inn is the gold standard for the Mid Hudson Valley. The best service, bar none. Wonderful Choices. They have specials on top of specials. The swordfish with capers is my all time favorite. Great salad, desserts to die for. I have never been disappointed here as it is consistently great. My top recommendation to anyone looking for a... On the way to tour FDR's home in Hyde Park, New York, we stopped at the Ship Lantern Inn for a quick lunch. We actually planned to dine at another nearby restaurant, but it was closed that day. Lucky us! After a quick Google search, we found the Ship Lantern Inn. Our party consisted of four adults and two kids.... More

Six old friends getting together for a pleasant dinner. Three are gluten sensitive, one can't have this the other cannot have that. Needless to say we had an awesome dinner. When possible the chef will adjust and eliminate an ingredient for customers. However, due to the fact that the menu is so extensive there is definetly something for everyone. This is... More

It has been a few years since I visited this venue. This is a family owned and family run business. The food is absolutely superb. I had the ribeye steak and it was perfect. The most important thing there is the level or service. It is old school wait service. Even the owner serves and ensures at the table every... More

Always can count on an excellent meal and excellent service! Very classy. Hasn't changed. Went for a romantic dinner during the week. Very happy with the atmosphere, the service and the food, all the way from appetizer to dessert.

My wife and I have visited this restaurant on numerous occasions and have never had one complaint. The service and food are second to known. It's no wonder why this restaurant has been in business for so many years. The gem of Ulster county.

The ship Lanterns in is great for special occasions, romantic dinners and important business lunches. It is well know in our area for fine dining. The menu has a fairly wide selection with steaks , sea food and Italian dishes.

First and last time there. Very beautiful surroundings and uniformed, courteous waiters. That's It !!!!!! Mediocre Caesar salad, so, so onion soup, chewy prime rib ( Asked for medium, but it was so rare it could have walked off the table, then it was over done).Duck Ok, but sort of dry. Terrible coffee, which tasted like dish water. Made a... More
