This is a modest but authentic Mexican restaurant with a couple of tables and a takeout business. Prices have gone way up - $9 for chips and salsa, $16 for cheese enchilladas?! The rice and black beans were cold and tasteless and the cheese barely...melted in the enchilladas served with a sloppy, cold green sauce with dinky plastic utensils. Service was grudging. Why go back?More

We went to the Avocado Cafe based on a review we read. It did not disappoint! The food was so fresh and delicious. My husband had the chicken enchiladas, I had the burrito, so delicious. This restaurant is about a mile from the harlem valley...rail trail, easy ride. We will be back!More

The best guacamole I’ve ever had! Four of us stopped there while we were riding the Harlem Valley rail trail. We ordered tacos, a quesadilla specialty, and enfrijoladas. Everything was delicious and fresh and plentiful. Most of the dishes came with rice and beans. We...all agreed that normally rice and beans are included but just to throw away. These rice and beans were super tasty. And in lots of cases, spicy means hot. Here, spicy means a great use of spices, resulting in a wonderful authentic flavor. While some of us managed to finish our lunch, two of us had to carry some home. The restaurant is about a mile off of the rail trail and definitely worth the side trip, even though you are on the highway for part of the time. Make the side trip, you won’t be sorry!More

I have never had a bad experience at this establishment. The food is always great and the service is friendly and nice. The burritos are to DIE for. Great food for great prices! Keep going back because they never let me down.

Wasn't sure what to expect. Wife had a Toluca,(quesadillas) instead of sausage she had the pork cheese onion tomatoes she loved it. I had the beef tacos plenty of beef but I didn't realize they don't put much of anything else on them unless you...ask. I would still get the tacos again but I would go with the supreme tacos, guacamole lettuce tomatoes onions and cilantro. Our only drawback was we got it to go and was just a little soggy. Owner was helpful and friendly would definitely go back, maybe sit there and eat. Very small place (4 tables )More

I was very disappointed for several reasons. They messed up my order and acted like it was my fault. My meal wasn't worth the aggravation or the money!!! It took way to long to get our meals. Because they messed up my order, I had...to take it to-go and eat it during a meeting; very embarrassing. Most restaurants do some sort of compensation when they get your order wrong. I will never eat there again!!!More

We have never been here before. I pulled up and so it was a small restaurant or some might refer to as a hole in the wall and had a good feeling about it. Well he food was beyond good. Probably one of the best...Mexican places I have found in years. I had the Shrimp in Garlic Sauce OMG it was slamming good. Lots of garlic and butter with rice. The beef and chicken tacos were very taste and not over seasoned. The beef must have been cooking for hours it was sweet, tender and juicy the same for the chicken. Took a little while to get the food but the brought us out some chips and salsa !!More

Wow! The Mexican food was really good! This restaurant is small and hidden on the side of the Athletic Club, but definitely worth a stop if you like Mexican food. The service was fast and courteous for eat-in and take-out customers. I had the Aztec...bowl. The thin taco shell was amazing! The filling was chicken, rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onions and cilantro - I loved that the cheese and sour cream were not overdone - they blended perfectly with all the components of the salad. I took half home for later - great value for the price! I think the one star rating must have been the competion!More

The food quality was fine but we truly did not even get a portion of what would be considered acceptable

I cannot say enough good things about this little hidden gem. We went to Millerton last night to do a little Christmas shopping at Saperstein's. I checked Google maps I had a time to find places to eat, and saw this place listed. It had...wonderful reviews. My husband had the nachos, I had tacos, and my son had the children's quesadilla. Everything was so fresh and so delicious. We can't wait to head up there again.More
