Was up at my camp last weekend, every trip there requires a stop at the cellar, great casual dining and feel good food, I love the fact that it all seems homemade, not packaged processed food. The staff is always friendly and we’ve never had...to wait for a table, my only issue is they close prior to hunting season which is when I’m there most often.More
The Cellar restaurant was a very pleasant surprise! Our Friday visit oriented us to the Fish Fry special (perhaps the best I've ever had anywhere) and the Fish Tacos (also excellent). Food was great, service was also great, and the selection of draft beer was...very good. Looking forward eagerly to our next visit. This is one you should not miss!More
We came in from Blue Mountain Lake and were pleased with the fast service, great draft beer choices, and the FOOD. Falafels surprised us because who expects them in northern NY? They were perfectly prepared. Next we tried the Brussels sprouts, also delicious. We ended...with a fresh garden salad. While we wanted to sample the burgers and pizza the appetizers selections and the beer filled us up. NEXT time we will try the burgers, pizza, or other entree choices. The service was fantastic. Thanks Brooke.More
This area of Long Lake does not have many restaurants. That’s sad, the celler is a great place regardless of its location. It is very casual, the service is terrific, and the food is very good. I have been in the area several times and...always question why they do not open for breakfast, they would do extremely well. Four stars because it’s not available for breakfast.More
Granted, it was Labor Day weekend and it was the last day the restaurant was going to be open before break. The place was busy which I took to be a good sign. We were promptly seated, and our drink order was filled quickly. It...was downhill from there - for me at least.
Our waiter told us there were items no longer available, and we were okay with that. Our food order was taken and, oh yeah, they were also out of mushrooms which we were told after my hubby ordered a Philly cheesesteak, so he asked for peppers to replace the mushrooms. I ordered the Fried Chicken Mac & Cheese. We waited nearly an hour, and were the LAST people served even though we were not the last seated. Hubby's sandwich was wonderfully hot while my dish was barely warm, with hard noodles and dry chicken besides. We has to ask the barmaid to find our waiter because he did not come back to ask us how the food was. He took my plate back into the kitchen and after another 10 minutes it was returned. Still tepid in the middle although a little warmer around the edges, with the chicken pieces even harder than before - like they just threw it in the microwave.
Luckily I hubby let me have some of his sandwich. I just ate some of the mac around the edges - didn't complain again - didn't see the point.
When the bill came we were charged extra for the peppers on the sandwich even though we weren't told they were extra and figured they were going to be just a replacement for the mushrooms they were out of. I just wanted out of there so we paid and left - albeit with a meager tip. The guy just didn't seem to care.
Glad other people liked it cause we sure will NEVER go back there again.More
