My husband said the eggplant was the best he ever had in a restaurant. Their pizza is also excellent. Can't wait to go again.

This is a restaurant that you feel like home in it. The staff is kind and respectful. The food is delicious and you don’t wait to much for it. It’s warm, cozy.
We visited LIC for a family wedding, on one of the nights a group of us had dinner here. The food was fantastic. The service however was slow, our server acted as if she’d rather be anywhere else but at work, her English was ok...but she was not interested in trying to understand our Irish accent so as to be able to provide us with answers to our queries or indeed get our order correct. Another slight on our dining experience was that it was extremely cold with a draught behind people sitting by the window.More
My son his wife and I made a reservation to have dinner there two days ago. We nearly left because we were waiting for 20 minutes before they had a table for us. Then they are late bringing the bread and olive oil. The bread...was cold. Then the waitress comes to take our order and she was very dry and cold..... so by this point we did not have high expectations about the food. We ordered the calamari appetizer and baked clams. The calamari was good, the clams were excellent. Nice surprise. For dinner we ordered the spaghetti carbonara, the 4 cheese pizza, a meal dish. They were all outstanding. The food made up for the lousy service. We will go there again and hopefully the service improves!!!!More
We chose the calamari fritti con salsa di pomodoro as an appetizer. The best calamari I have ever eaten. Then my partner chose a pasta and I chose the risotto. Both very tasty. The portions are very large. Definitely recommended for those looking for a...nice Italian restaurant.More
Horrible experience. Brought my visiting in laws here and regretted it. The server was incredibly rude and was upset because we politely called him over regarding an over cooked meal. Despite the fact that he took forever to take our order, then when he did...come over he was quick to say how nothing is his fault and give a very nasty attitude, he was completely unprofessional. My husband said we know it’s not your personal fault the meal was over cooked yet he still was very rude. After his extremely nasty snarks that proceeded after speaking to him, we asked to speak to the manager which the unprofessionalism continued. So, we had poor slow service, a nasty server and manager and crap food. We won’t be back, and suggest you don’t go there either. There are plenty of other great spots in town, go there.More
I had the spinach fettucini with pesto and schrimps and it tasted fantastic! The service was friendly and good. Would come here again
Awful awful experience from start to finish. Rude staff, dirty tables, frozen food! Ordered the ‘special’ lasagne which was served still completely frozen in the middle. The waiter literally said the would microwave it? Was then returned to the table some 10 minutes later still...frozen... Pizza was just about ok- the only thing that looked as though it might have been made from fresh. Completely ruined the last night of our trip.More
My wife and I, along with friends we've brought along for dinner, have now eaten here three times. Three times, the food was very good -- and three times our meal was marred by yelling at the bar, twice coupled by patrons clapping and yelling...so loud that conversation was difficult. Last night, two men came in, and immediately yelled hello to wait staff thirty feet away. Lots of hugs with staff and bartender followed -- for ten minutes, all patrons could do is try not to have the meal spoiled by the transformation of Bella Via from a very good Italian restaurant to a "Cheers" wannabe. TripAdvisor often asks if a restaurant is "Romantic." Bella Via isn't, and has no interest, it seems, in allowing customers who are not regulars and friends of staff to enjoy their very good food.More
Hi Akalith, I’m sorry for the bad experience you had here. We are a neighborhood restaurant and most of our customers are very regular. In these cold months the Restaurant gets quiet and sometimes one or two people can disrupt the small environment. I apologize...More
My wife and I finally decided to try Bella Via for dinner, having passed it many times going to other restaurants on Vernon Blvd. It seemed, from the outside, to be just another pizza place. We were pleasantly surprised, both by the size and quality...of the appetizers: Octopus Salad ($12.95), and Grilled Calamari ($12.95) -- either could have been a main, and one would have been enough to share. The two Chardonnays ($8 each) we had them with were fine. My wife's Grilled Salmon ($21.95) with potato and vegetables was very good, and a worthwhile alternative to the Grilled Sea Bass special, which was overpriced at $32.95. (None of the "Specials" were priced, and we can see why.) My own Fettuccini Pesto with Shrimp ($19.95) was fine. We had to bring home half of each main, and we enjoyed the balance at the next day's lunch. Service was excellent. We'll be back.More
