Neighborhood pub - excellent food

Simple, comfortable neighborhood pub with excellent food. We were three generations. Grandparents, parents and 9-year old granddaughter had a lovely evening.

Back in February, while attending the Toy Fair, a huge blizzard canceled my flight back to Youngstown and I had to scramble for lodging for the evening or stay trapped at the airport all night. I supposedly got lucky and found a room at the Best Western hotel about 10-12 miles from LaGuardia airport, New York. Being that the Best... More

This neighborhood bar was recommended by our hotel, so I have it a try. It was an easy walk from the nearby Fairfield Inn. The wait staff was prompt and helpful. I had the burger and onion rings. Both were very good. I would come here again if in the neighborhood.

We had read about this local Irish Pub on the internet before we arrived. We walked up from our hotel. At first you are not sure what to think as far as the place does look like a pub. We liked the tvs with sports, friendly enough waitress, nothing crazy friendly, but good. The food is fantastic. I ordered a... More

Here you just can't find a better value for the money. When I'm in town, I eat more than 95% of my meals HERE! The menu is diversified, the meal quality is well above average, and for the price, it just can't be beaten. The staff take the time to know you. They know what I like, how I like... More

The Bantry Bay is the only sit down restaurant within walking distance of the Fairfield Inn & Suites, Long Island City. The atmosphere is casual and the menu has LOTS of selections with reasonable prices. I had the Italian Shepherd Pie which was delicious, but there was no bread/butter offered with the meal which had a tomato base. It just... More

We got in late to our hotel and wanted something to eat even though it was close to 9pm. This place was close by. From the outside it look nondescript and a bit questionable. However inside it was very pleasant, clean, nice ambiance. We had great service and great food and great prices. A great place to kick back and... More

We stumbled across this bar since it was near our hotel. We stay overnight once or twice a month to have a fun night-on-the-town. Bantry had televisions, so we knew we could watch the Ranger game. We ate wings and shepherd's pie. The wings were huge and delicious! The shepherd's pie was perfect. The bartender was a great gal who... More

Had the spinach nachos and Irish Stew. Oh Man, the stew is outstanding, the tenderest lamb I've ever had and the veggies were cooked to perfection!

Might have the BEST Guinness I have ever enjoyed outside of Ireland itself. I find Guinness varies greatly from place to place here in the US and although no Guinness is bad at the Bantry Bay it was superior. Nice Irish pub. Friendly service. Very good Mulligatawny soup. Dinner was superb. Prices were very reasonable. Really everything one could want... More
