We were touring western New York and stopped at Lockport on Oct 19 to do some leaf peeping. Sadly, the color change had not yet occurred. But we stopped at Tom's for lunch. WHAT A GREAT PLACE! I had the Pot Roast Tuesday lunch special;...ate as much as I could and took the rest back to our hotel for lunch the next day. Two full meals. My wife had the 1/2 Cobb Salad with the same result. The food was top notch, the service was down home friendly, the restaurant was nearly full and obviously very popular. I recommend this place to anyone. We truly enjoyed our meal.More
The diner looks like a little store front restaurant, But when you walk in, it is bigger then you think. The service is like an old time small town diner was. The coffee was hot and never ending and the food was great.
We stopped for lunch while on a long bike ride. I had the breakfast platter of eggs, home fries, bacon and toast and it was very good. My wife opted for the grilled cheese sandwich and she said it was the best she ever had....Seating was outdoors or inside with all the Covid-19 protocols in place. This is the place the locals go and why not? Good food, reasonable prices and friendly service.More
I try the chicken fingers at almost every new restaurant I visit and Tom's has some of the best in Lockport!
just what you would expect from a small town diner, right down to seats at the counter. Nothing fancy just good food at a reasonable price with good service.
Came here with family for breakfast. Food was delicious, served fast, and big portions. One of my favorites.
We were visiting Niagara Falls from Hawaii and drove to Lockport to see the cave and ride the boat through the locks. We saw Tom's Diner from the boat and decided to have lunch there. The staff were absolutely charming and so friendly. I had...their chili and was very pleasantly surprised at its flavor! Best chili I've ever had! Freshly made! Being from Hawaii, I love my rice....it would have been great Over rice! Chili rice!!!More
Quick fresh eats, with friendly service, at a reasonable price. Good variety on the menu. Good atmosphere and centrally located to the local attractions. The menu (at least the pricing on it) provided above on TA is outdated, but the prices haven't increased too much...- what you see above is in the ballpark of what they actually are. The review below about it being a "no-no" for vegetarians is a bit overly hard. Yes, there aren't many choices in that vein, but there is something. I wouldn't avoid Tom's simply on the basis of being a vegetarian. Although, admittedly if you're a local one, Tom's won't be your go-to regular place because there simply wouldn't be a variety over a long time.More
Five of us were in the midst of the 400+ mile bicycle ride along the Erie Canal when we cycled into Lockport, feeling exhausted, hot and hungry. It was 2:45 pm and the diner closed at 3. We tried another spot because of the time...but they were closed. Tom's Diner welcomed us in and took excellent care of us. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. The sweet waitress filled ALL of our water bottles with cold water and we left feeling refreshed and ready for the next part of the ride.More
Somehow this was our 1st trip to Tom's Diner and we loved it. The menu says "step in and step back in time",and that is so true. You feel like it's the 1950's or 60's with it's décor and atmosphere, but that is part of...it's charm. The food was very good and the service quick. We both had 2 eggs, hash browns,my wife had ham,I sausage and french toast and orange juice for under $20. How is that possible? It is located downtown, has a nice local feel and the back windows overlook the Eric Canal. The next time we are in town, we will certainly make this a breakfast stop.More
It possibly is one of the best in the town. However, for a vegetarian, it is a big no no. There is hardly anything other than French Fries which a vegetarian can consider eating.
If you're checking out the Erie Canal at Locksport, go for breakfast at Tom's Diner. Great retro feel, fun place to be. And very friendly waitresses! Hearty breakfast, fairly priced.
Wonderfully quaint little place (not so little) with good service, friendly staff, wonderful menu and fantastic Reuben sandwiches.
Great breakfast with both healthy and hearty options, old fashioned vibe, great service! Food came out fast and hot!
