In terms of menu, Ember offers interesting and tasty choices, while consistently paying careful attention to presentation and seasonal variations. I have eaten there on many occasions over the years and have never been disappointed by anything from the kitchen or that bar. However, I must express my ongoing frustration with the absolutely horrible acoustics. In fact, I have even... More

After months of talking about trying this place out we finally made it. We loved it. 3 key things to be aware of: 1. Highly recommend reservations 2. Family style food servings 3. Food comes out as it is ready, not all at once.

Ember Woodfire Grill just keeps getting better. A locally sourced, farm-to-table experience brings you well-balanced tastes with intense flavors. From pizzas, to sweet potato egg rolls, to ahi tuna with house-made nachos, and superb takes on bruschetta, Ember Woodfire Grill always exceeds even you highest hopes. Bravo!

First time there and will definitely go back. Love this style of dining - sharing plates. Staff was great too. Very cool place! We were in town for a volleyball game and found them on Yelp, called to make reservation but there wasn't one available until later, but did say walk ins would be about 25 minutes so we were... As the other reviewers say, this is not a typical dining experience. This makes it fun. The menu changes periodically, and there is usually a broad variety, ranging from appetizers to main courses. The food is good, although occasionally we have had things that we thought were poor. It's not a particularly friendly place, a bit mechanical. And it is... More

I've wanted to try this place for a while but it was out of the way. I happened to be in the area so we went there for dinner, I'm really glad we did. The food was terrific and the atmosphere was unexpected in a small town like Livonia. It felt very cosmopolitan with a comtemporary, rustic vibe. But the... More

A great place to go with another couple or a small group. If you're in the mood to try some different dishes, this is the place. Everyone orders something...the dishes might not arrive at the same time, but it's designed for all to share...really. We had, a couple of salads (the calamari is a great choice), a pizza special, mac... More

We had the most delicious wild boar chops i have ever had, I wish the chef would tell me how he makes them. I would eat them 3 times a week.

Lovely restaurant, food aimed at sharing we enjoyed calamari salad, 1lb burger, Mac and cheese and pork belly buns. Great value for money. Our waitress Katie was the best. When we asked about local rental for fishing gear she offered to loan her husbands to us and gave us her number to call if we needed to borrow rods. Staff... More

Description
EMBER WOOD FIRE GRILL is a casual dining restaurant, occupying the old historic train station in the quaint village of Livonia in Livingston County, committed to a hospitality first attitude.

In an era dominated by chain restaurants and fast, pre-packaged food, our mission is to bring our patrons REAL food at reasonable prices. Comfort from scratch cuisine using the best ingredients from sustainable sources, whenever possible: selections with no growth hormones, pesticides, pre-packaged, frozen or use of steam tables will be used in our kitchen. Our food is high quality and labor intensive, the same as some of the top restaurants, in the country, without the big city over head, so we can keep our prices reasonable.

Our hope is that you, our customer, will enjoy the combination of stunning modern architecture and old charm: simple, good food "meant to share" from farm to plate. Our menus will changes with the seasons, our wood fire selections are cooked with real wood, our wine and micro brew selections are large and extensive. Our well trained staff will make your selection approachable and fun.

S.O.S.: Shorts or Suit, come down and enjoy!!!
