EMBER WOOD FIRE GRILL is a casual dining restaurant, occupying the old historic train station in the quaint village of Livonia in Livingston County, committed to a hospitality first attitude.

In an era dominated by chain restaurants and fast, pre-packaged food, our mission is to bring our patrons REAL food at reasonable prices. Comfort from scratch cuisine using the best ingredients from sustainable sources, whenever possible: selections with no growth hormones, pesticides, pre-packaged, frozen or use of steam tables will be used in our kitchen. Our food is high quality and labor intensive, the same as some of the top restaurants, in the country, without the big city over head, so we can keep our prices reasonable.

Our hope is that you, our customer, will enjoy the combination of stunning modern architecture and old charm: simple, good food "meant to share" from farm to plate. Our menus will changes with the seasons, our wood fire selections are cooked with real wood, our wine and micro brew selections are large and extensive. Our well trained staff will make your selection approachable and fun.

Creative Menu, Always Excellent

The food is always good. We have tried many of the seasonal dishes as well as some tried and true. Never disappointed. Service is good, and even when the tables are all full, never a harried atmosphere.

The food is always delicious! The menu gets changed seasonally, a lot of the food is from local farms which I like, and the customer service is excellent😀 My only complaint is that it has become so popular it's hard to get reservations on short notice.

My husband and I have eaten here numerous times. Tonight we had the BLT salad, which featured thick-cut slab bacon (fantastic!) over kale greens, with heirloom tomatoes, and white bean crostini. He had for a main course rigatoni with veal meatballs, while I had gnocchi that was just perfect; light, firm, flavorful--pretty much the best I've had outside Siena. The... More

My husband and I went for dinner this past Friday. The place was packed so we had about a 40 minute wait but it was well worth it. This is a very different dining experience. Plate sharing is encouraged and once you order your food it comes out of the kitchen as its finished cooking, not course style like most... More

There were 5 of us. We ordered 6 different entrees. All were wonderful and everyone had plenty to eat. The steak salad, sweet potato egg rolls, the trout, the tuna nachos. All were fabulous and look forward to going back to try some other entrees! What a fun time we had!

Had no idea what to expect and it proved to be an interesting experience. Food is prepared to share and in order to serve food hot, items may not come out together. We began by sharing the chicken wings, which were very tasty. For entrees we then had Mac and cheese, which was made differently with a cheese we didn't... More

Tapas style, portions were plentiful. Food was flavorful and great beer selections. Ordered pepperoni pizza and chicken Cajun pizza as well as cauliflower eggplant cassoulet and sweet potato egg rolls and Mac & cheese. Every bite was delicious - outdoor patio very comfortable

I have been to Ember many times and have always found the food to be well prepared and well presented. It features a tapas-style menu with eclectic options as well as a number of full-sized US-style dinner choices. The wine list complements the menu very well. The servers are pleasant and prepared to answer questions about any of the menu... More
