I remember growing up with this restaurant. It was a special treat to go there. It is now a mediocre place with a pricey menu that is not matched by value.

When we lived in NY we used to go to Southside all the time for lobster. They were delicious and the price was right. We were in NY visiting our family for Thanksgiving and had the opportunity to go but it was awful and a tremendous disappointment. I guess nothing lasts forever. When we got there they told us they... More
We are on our way to JFK.We wil never have the opportunity to eat the real usa lobster. We found this place that is the real seafood restaurant to feed yourself with good memories about good food. The only place we could find crabs. Half price from.the restaurants in Port Washington same menu.50 minutes from JFK.
There was a number of prepared dishes cooked, and ready to to be cooked at home. Their restaurant is cafeteria style, you order and get your food, then find a table to sit and eat at. The fish has always been fresh and clean each time i've been there over the past 4 years.
Great seafood the prices have gone up and you don't get as much food as they used to yrs ago. But the food is still very tasty . They also have refillable drinks. There soup is delicious. They also have great lunch specials and sing up for texts and email and they will send you specials.
Are there new owners? Because this is not the Southside I have been to! It has changed for the worse! The specials on the blackboard were not as they were written. My dish had totally something else in it then was written on the board. The two girls had to read it then they had to argue with the cooks... More
Counter service restaurant with good seafood. We had the lobster roll (3 stars) and the Mussels Marinara (5 stars). Fries were also good. Ordering was slow yet accurate and polite. Diet Coke machine was empty took 15 minutes for someone to attend to. Issue was not that it ran out but rather the bartender telling customers 2-3 times it was... More
Long lines at dinner but an excellent choice of well prepared seafood dishes. Somewhat noisy, as there were many family groups when we were there. There are a large number of dishes prepared however you like your fish. We would return but probably not on a weekend evening.
while the restaurant was crowded. we just didn't find it to be as good as it use to be. I think there is too much concentration on quick in and out than the quality.
