I have eaten here twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. Both times I was very happy. The restaurant is a large room with a gas fireplace, and at one end it opens into a bar area. I have not sat in the bar, but it looks classy and cozy. This restaurant is part of a hotel that I have... More

Dark wood paneling, wood fireplace, white linen table cloths, clean and updated bathrooms, lots of space between diners, and attentive wait staff. Food was tasty and delicious but nothing creative or memorable in taste with the exception of sherry flavored clarified butter for the lobster. The waiter recommended the "original" puff pastry but it was overcooked, flavorless and embarrassingly bad... More

What a charming atmosphere. The colonial feel may be passe in this region, but we thoroughly loved it. We were staying at the hotel, but spent most of our time doing day trips. But waiting for our shuttle to the airport, we decided to check it out. The group of nuns chatting around a large table seemed to indicate that... More

I indicated that this restaurant wasn't good for kids, and that I wasn't sure about a TV. There actually was a fairly well behaved child seated near us, but it wasn't the kind of place I would take a child to. I think there may have been a restaurant in the bar area, but certainly not in the restaurant. The... More

This is a long-time classic Capital Area restaurant. it's reputation is well deserved. It is located in an historic building and the cuisine is historic too. I've never had a bad meal there, either eating with a small group or a large gathering. The service is first class. I have eaten there many times and will be back!

We had a late lunch at the tavern. Just a few tables in the bar/tavern area, but still a very cozy and welcoming area. Food was delicious and service was excellent.

We were staying in the area for the conference. After reading good reviews on The Trip Advisor and seeing available groupon, we decided to try it. After a long conference day, we are a family of decided to try this restaurant. At around 5:00 pm we were the second table seated. Our server Taylor was very attentive, polite, helpful and... More
